I’d be curious to know about what Breguet did. I am a fan of Breguet and would choose that over the explorer but I have no tolerance for predatory sales / bad practice in business. Congrats on your new piece!

Aha, great choice, I have one as well it’s an absolute stunner. You and I have 3 watches in common now 226570 Polar, Sub date (mine is the older ceramic model) and now the 40mm Explorer which I picked up in March. Wear my Explorer 40 more than any other watch. Grab yourself a two tone DJ41 and we’ll have a full set each!

Been wearing my 36mm daily for 3 years. It’s much more elevated than your other watches and can flex from being in the mountains to black tie. Mine is beat to hell and looks so good. Smooth bezel is all scratched up.

Beautiful watch! I can’t wait to see how it fits your lifestyle. I’d love the 36mm one. Incidentally, did you see Adrian Barker’s latest video about his Explorer II? It took a dive & the crystal is smashed. It was painful to see!

Thanks, Cheers - Yeah wasn't that sad, Oh man it was painful to see! It must have hit that rock at the worst spot. I have dropped my Explorer II a few times, but only on the dirt or snow, not a killer (Omega) rock.

@@cheynewalls Maybe Adrian will do a video about the $ cost of getting it fixed. My only automatic watch I’ve had serviced was my Tag Heuer 2000 with an ETA 2824; that was $320 through Tag in 2018. I’m a bit curious about what my BB58 will cost for a service with the in-house movement.

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 congrats! Excellent choice, Breguet and Omega sink like a tank if you want to get rid of it. Us watch enthusiasts always keep saying we are not flippers, I will keep it for life, and that Rolex is for snobs, but that’s a bunch of BS when life hits you with unexpected lemons like it did for me, then you’ll find the same friendly dealers turn to savages, you’ll find out which pieces you’re able to move soon and which ones will make you feel like you threw away your money for. I’m forced to keep a Breitling Colt I bought for $2.5K because the most I got offered was $700 dollars, yet I fell out of love and sold a Date-just 41 back in 2021 and made a thousand dollar profit that I didn’t anticipate. I’m sorry if I’m triggering a watch nerd somewhere out there, but I do value my hard earned money. You should go for the Daytona since you have a good spending history and good luck!

I hear what you are saying. I would like to say I will never sell my Rolex timepieces, but you are right, if life hits and it hit hard it is nice to know that the Rolex on your wrist will sell quickly and at minimum for what you paid for it.

I don't want to go to much into it as I'm still trying to work with this boutique. The boutique offered the watch to me at a great price, in-trade for me to do something in compensation. All was figured out and agreed upon, however when I went into purchase that watch, without my knowledge that compensation had grown exponentially.

The Rolex Explorer was never my favorite until I saw the 40mm in person. I'll try to relate this in my videos, how I have never really seen such a beautiful combination of roughed toughness within such an elegant design. Hopefully I make more sense on the upcoming videos. Cheers

So when I checked out all the options u had, I definitely hoped u choosing Exp, which is awesome since u actually ended up choosing it. However, I simultaneously hoped u getting Speedmaster too since u haven’t added any decent chronograph watch in ur collection yet. I mean, u’ve got a dive watch, a field watch, and a gmt watch. So I guess ur collection will be completed once u add a decent chronograph watch next!

Oh it wasn't a Breguet shop, just a watch boutique that sells the Breguet watches. I don't want to go to much into it as I'm still trying to work with this watch boutique. The boutique offered the watch to me at a great price, in-trade for me to do something in compensation. All was figured out and agreed upon, however when I went into purchase that watch, without my knowledge that compensation had grown exponentially.

The Breguet and Omega were both chronographs. Why did you decide on the time-only watch?

I do really (need) want the chronograph, but like you saw on the video I went to purchase the Breguet, I wanted the Breguet. That fell through and I'm still a little on the fence about the Speedmasters water resistance of only 50m. I think the Breguet type XX is the perfect fit for a field chronograph watch and the Speedy more of a around town watch. Since the Rolex Explorer 40 could do both very well I want to save up and get that Breguet type XX in the near future as my field watch. Cheers

I liked the Rolex Explorer 39mm, but it was just a bit to small for me and I prefer the newer 3230 movement over the outgoing 3132. I do a lot of snow camping and the newer 3230 movement is better developed and more capable in those those kind of conditions.

@@cheynewalls nothing just you’re not going to wear it. If you’re enjoying the tool part of Rolex, speedy is not for you. Speedy is hype up because of KZfaq and anti-Rolex KZfaq. Wear your Rolex and go to an omega store, try on any speedy try to walk around the store with it. Try to not talk so much with the AD rep. To get a feel. It’s not built well, doesn’t feel good on wrist, nosy, not balance, ugly case back. Only reason to by it, is the whatever story and just like the look of omega.

@@dinhtran-ld4hz I have tried on the Speedy a few times at an Omega AD. I will say I wish the Speed had a bit better water resistance, but all and all a nice watch. We will see what the future holds, I just know that my next watch will need to be a chronograph to "fill out" my collection, maybe a Breguet maybe an Omega, we will see. Thanks for your insight.

@@cheynewallsDo not let listen to this guy. It’s complete nonsense. I’ve been collecting watches for years and the speedmaster was the very first watch I bought. It’s still part of my collection to this very day and I still wear the hell out of it. The 1861 movement is nearly bulletproof, and the newer 3861 is even better. My speedmaster has never even been serviced and it still keeps better time than all of my Rolexes at 1 second/day. The only drawback is the lack of water resistance. That being said, 50m is good enough for the vast majority of things you’ll be doing. Some people even swim with them, which Omega says you can do. Just don’t go diving with it and you’ll be fine. The speedy is an awesome watch. Outside of my Explorer, it’s probably my all time favorite.
