In this video I make my week 6 page for my 2024 concertina / accordion journal. This journal is a bit different - to usual journals as I will create the journal page by page each week. I'll be using my scraps and using my stash as much as possible. This week, as well as creating my page, I add a found words to the page #mixedmedia #useyourscraps #concertina

The concertina / accordion journal I am creating can be regarded as an #artjournal or a #junkjournal - it's up to you what you want to call yours.Whatever you call it, I will be showing how you can create each page using #collage and #mixedmediatechniques . Whether art journal pages or #junkjournalpages we are going to have fun turning #trashtotreasure. Whatever your style or preference for #journaling you can adapt this project to do what you enjoy most. Have fun.

Dear Kylie- I love how the gold stenciling illuminates the page! The little journal and pocket are a lovely feature and compliment the page so nicely. I was thinking as I was making my journal, how fun it is to have several options for how the pages come together. For instance, I could add pages to either end of the journal as I go or add the cover at the end. In this case your slightly larger page could now become the front cover…or not…but the options are part of the charm of this wonderful project! Until next time!💖🎨🙏

I love all the colours in this journal, with the overlay of gold they resemble beautiful somewhat distressed brocades. I've become addicted to adding pockets to assorted books, including regular-ish sketchbooks to keep gallery postcards & random stuff. Thanks Kylie for the inspiration😊💜💫

I have thought so many times, "This is my favorite page," and then you do the next page! They just get better and better. I love the inspiration. This is a series i will definitely refer to when i get back to papercrafting at home. I love the idea of making pages just for the art and using up scraps - and boy, do i have the scraps to use up! I have to confess, when you discussed an issue you'd share at the end, I thought you glued the pocket upside down. LOL. The page colors are gorgeous, the pocket, and mini journal are brilliant. Luckily, the size of the page is fixable. By the way, I have the same problem with my three and one glue. I find it is great until the half way mark. I think the air in the bottle thickens the glue, and makes it harder to get out of the bottle. I keep mine stored upside down, too! LOL. TFS 🙏🥰 have a lovely weekend!

You are amazing me from week to week with your beautiful pages. I started thinking about you using less desirable pages to build on. The question come to my mind HOW BAD IS TOO BAD to be turned around into something you can be proud of?

Another gorgeous page! And I learn so much from you. Do you have a shop online where you sell supplies? I am hearing others remark about glue problems too. I just threw out two bottles that had solidified and was wondering if it's my Southern climate. But it sounds like you have the same issue in Scotland.

I'm just wondering Kylie why make so much work thickening up the original paper with lots more paper and matt medium while cardboard or the like could've been a quicker way to get a stiff substrate for the final mixed media look? Just curious 😊 Turned out great 😍 I really like your raw approach.
