I've had a 1U gap in my studio rack for the longest time now. I finally found the right deal on eBay so I'm not adding a rackmount power conditioner to this setup to hopefully condition and distribute power to everything that makes a sound in this room. Couple of cool chats and interesting points in this one so it's worth a watch even if you're not directly a fan of this stuff.
Thanks for watching! I hope you all enjoy...

Hi! I was wondering I got a powered mixer “Yamaha emx5” what do you use to protect it from power surges? Do I need powered conditioner? I’m very new at learning about setting up systems 😬

nice video...... thinking about a phonic for my guitar rig. This is just a tc electronics g major, behringer foot controller and hughes and kettner tube amp. Mostly concerned about powering the amp with it, not to clever with electrics so is there any kind of fusing with the phonic as when you use the male/female connector leads you are loosing the 13amp fused plug? Also is the phonic alright to run a 100w tube amp such as the kettner switchblade. Thanks for any help you can give, Mark

ItsMyNaturalColour Ive just managed to get hold of the same power conditioner on eBay after seeing your video, it was the last one. Ive been meaning to get one for sometime and finally bit the bullet. Im looking for advice on the best way to use it in my small home studio. This is what I have to plug in:- 1 - computer, imac - IEC 2 - Dual monitor - Goes into its own transformer then IEC 3 - mackie control pro - Goes into its own transformer then IEC 4 - mcu pro xt - Goes into its own transformer then IEC 5-6 -2x speakers (Rokit G5's) IEC 7-8 -2x racks both (Pre amp and Headphone Amp) IEC 9 - Sound interface - mbox pro 3 - transformer then to normal plug 10 - mood lights - normal plug I will be purchasing a extension lead as-well as i also want my computer and second monitor on separate flows to use them without everything else. Would you recommend getting one ending with an IEC.

I like the video and I'm very interested in purchasing the phonic ppc9000e but I'm still incredibly confused as to how you connect the power from the power conditioner to the rest of the equipment in your rack. A blind stab in the dark, I would guess that you'd need male to female IEC cables for example I want to power my rocktron velocity 300 power amp through the conditioner, can you simply connect that with just a male-female IEC cable? Everywhere I've looked I can't seem to find an answer and would really appreciate it if you reply! Cheers

Bludstayned Hey man! There are a few ways you can take juice from a power conditioner like this. If your equipment has IEC connectors, a simple 'IEC Extension' or 'IEC jumper' is the simplest way to hook up, that is the male to female IEC lead in whatever length you require. If your equipment is hard wired (power cable cannot be removed from device), you can either chop off the plug and replace it with a male IEC connector but the easiest thing to do would be to get your hands on a male IEC to female 13a socket jumper (if you're in the UK). You can also get 4-gang extensions that tail in IEC. This is also handy for devices that use transformers. You can make your own too. If you have a spare extension lead, replace the plug with a male IEC and you can plug that into the conditioner directly to power devices with standard plugs. As long as you don't exceed the max current rating of the conditioner you can go to town. Hope this helps!

Extremely helpful thank you very much! Apologies if there's any confusion, I have two separate youtube accounts and I'm currently logged into this one on my ipad whereas on my phone it automatically logs me into my bludstayned account. Cheers for the advice, I think all my gear has iec inputs so I'm gonna go with the IEC extension cables I reckon

Hello! Great vid! Does anybody know the correct sequence to connect Furman and UPS? Power - Furman - UPS or Power - UPS - Furman?? Cause I know that if you connect an UPS to the Furman it may cause the fact that the batteries work more than requested... on the other side APC suggestes to connect their UPS directly to the power instead to another device (in this case a Furman). That being said I'm a bit confused... Any suggestions? Thank you!

Ehm... I take no responsibility for this, but I'd go UPS into the Power conditioner(s) , this way, your "network" is protected

Furman begins at $77 USD. And they insure your equipment. Only when bought from an authorized dealer. Just got the PL8C because it's the cheapest Furman with the newer LiFT technology. LED lights instead of hot bulbs too! If you truly value your equipment, you need a Furman power conditioner. No, I don't work for Furman. Check out the many vids on Furman protection. 3 & 5 year warranty

I love your studio videos. I've got quite the studio myself. Checkout "Bird's nest studios" on Facebook. Also do you have any audio samples I could hear? Also good call on the power conditioner. Made A big difference in my setup. What interface are you running? I've got 2 Presonus Firestudio Projects daisy chained for 16 inputs.

If your mixing desk is the source of the noise, the power conditioner will make no difference whatsoever. Power conditioners reduce the noise in the mains power and not the noise floor of your equipment

Personally, I've tried many of these devices and have never really found that they make a positive difference. In fact, the power conditioners that i used to use on my hi-fi setup made everything sound quite dull and compressed - when i accidentally broke one, resulting in the removal of all of them, it was like I'd upgraded the entire system. The difference was night and day. I can see why they would be useful, but they've just never worked for me.

That is NOT a power conditioner. It has no real protection or conditioning circuitry. FURMAN are much more expensive FOR A REASON. This unit is just a PDU with a 10A overload and lights. Open it up and see.

This looks like Adam Hall power conditioner rip off or Adam Hall looks like rip off this one, and they both look like Furmann ripoffs hahaha.. And the T.Racks power conditioner is a ripoff from all of the above. And its famous for failures. So that is probably the one you say is exploding.
