Have you seen an acoustic guitar with a little hole on the upper side of the guitar body?
It's called side sound port. It doesn't change the sound coming out from the sound hole, but it changes the sound that the player hears. It says it will be more clear and bright.
It's also useful as a monitor. You will have better idea how it sounds like for the audience. Also, since it sounds better for the player, it will be more fun to play.
Ever since I've read about the sound port I really wanted to try, but I was a bit scared. What if there is no effects? What if I break my guitar?
Luckily I have a robot arm with a laser module (Rotrics DexArm) and I thought this robot arm may be able to cut out a sound port cleanly without even loosening the strings.
The result was amazing! Please watch the video if you are interested!
