nice but is it possible to monitor by cell phone when im not at home? whats are the low power consumtion cameras ?is it safe to put out the cat6 cable/poe extender outside enviroment ? thunder strike can damage poe swith fire house or anythunh 😢

I believe most IP cameras allow access remotely without configuring the router/modem now. P2P technology makes it easier. If the thunder strike hit anything, it will fire without any doubt. Even if it is the power cable, there is no difference, but the chance is odd. However, the cable could absorb the surge from the environment. It will not fire your house, but it could damage the devices. If the lighting happens so often, you might consider adding the PoE surge protector to the system.

Is there a battery power supply in the extenders ?

No, the PoE extenders can directly draw the power from the long-range PoE+ switch. No external power supplies are required.

Hello ,there I had pre-installed my ip cameras before and wanted to add another ip camera ,so the problem I have is I bought a switch and wanted to link two cameras on the poe switch and connect to the nvr which I did but the cameras keep flipping from on camera to the other on one Ip address and can't add the other one how can I overcome this issue please help. Thank you

It's probably because both of your IP cameras are possibly trying to use the same IP address when connected through the PoE switch to your NVR. You can check and configure the IP addresses either through the camera's web interface or using a software tool provided by the camera manufacturer.

You can check the IP address of each camera to see if there's a conflict.

I can use Poe Switch if i have poe NVR ?

Yes, you still can use PoE switch in most case. However, if the PoE NVR switch has isolated subnet to take in the IP cameras, then the camera can't return to the NVR through the LAN port on the PoE NVR. It will not work in this case. You can cross check the IP address of the camera as well as the IP address of your NVR itself.

Hi, i would like to ask if it possible to put poe extender on poe powered switch on uplink port?

Yes, just make sure you add the PoE extender before 328ft. I would suggest you go for this one, as it has power handshaking. It doesn't rely on the PoE powered switch at the edge. You can attach any switch to the cable at the edge. www.fastcabling.com/product/poe-extender/

@@Fastcabling "you can attach any switch" meaning not a "powered swich but a regular poe swich with ac external power?" how can it powered the poe switch at the edge if there is no ac power source in the remote area ? and how could we power the poe powered switch tru regular poe switch on it's uplink port?

The poe extender should be connected to the poe passthrough port on the poe powered switch. But you might need a 802.3bt poe injector to power the extender or there'll not be enough power.

can i use this system even without internet?can i record vid with NVR with IP cam and poe switch.does IP cam and NVR function only with an internet access?
