Adding Apple Carplay to 2014 Corvette C7, HMI 2.0 to 2.5

Was experiencing some radio and screen issues so decided to upgrade my radio module and HMI to the later version. Install is pretty simple and can be done cheaply if your willing to do the research yourself. There are forum members capable of flashing HMI's as well. I used a small business just to help out.

To shrink the menu I believe you have to press the menu button on the far right side of the screen

the screen came back because theres a loose communication cord, faulty solder or frail cord core frade

its the iphone because even the slow charging usb input still trickle charges it and phones 4 years old seem to work but eventually the cells in the battery die out and then it cant hold enough charge.

If I just want to ad the extra XM features can I just ad the XM module or do I need to d t he Nav module as well? I am ok using the Car Play Nav

You might need the updated HMI module, but I’m honestly not sure. The lady who did my coding tho said all the components had to be within the same compatibility/year range.

It actually did. I read that the cable causes the issue but I guess mine was radio module. I never got the issue again after this install.

Does your ride management gps PDR all work.

GPS works better with the newer one, and the magnetic ride works fine also. Pretty much everything works except the PDR. But my car wasn’t originally equipped with it so I don’t have the module or cameras. The HMI unit I bought came out of a car with PDR that’s why it shows on my screen. It could be added tho.

Good video, I really liked how you showed the different difficult spots. Do you have any regrets? If you could do it all over again would you still do it?

I would definitely do it over again. WAZE has saved me from tickets lol it was totally worth it. Shops typically charge a lot for that too. If you know someone at Chevy that can program the HMI it’s really cheap and super worth it.

@@mranderson757 no you still have to buy an updated HMI unit, but those are pretty easy to come by. If you know someone at Chevy or GM you can save on the programming portion

just the ones in the description, all the parts I used were from Ebay, and the company that did the flash doesnt have a website either. I have her email if you'd like that.

Me, the flashing of the HMI was the only thing I outsourced I handled the rest right in the garage.

3:21 don’t tell me to don’t mind the crumbs. I do mind the crumbs & you should have cleaned the car before shooting. These KZfaq content providers are so damn lazy brah 😐
