Can we go through the braid instead of the loc if our hair isn’t interlocked like yours yet? Or does it have to be interlocked before we go through the braid instead of root

I want to do this cause my shrinkage is soo real and i really wanted my locs to start at the length my hair is blown out lol. My only concern is i have a really pretty 4a/b curio to my hair and want to keep my ends curly. Idk if their hair will look the same at the ends of i don’t let them loc 👀😬

Your hair is gorgeous and I have a question? Why not just do micros if an individual is just starting? Isn't that the same thing?
