It's refreshing to see someone be truthful on YT glad you got to the bottom of what was making the noise nothing to serious or expensive, I tried Lucas a few years ago for a troublesome oil consumption issue didn't help that much if at all, last winter it developed a hard knock on cold starting I ended up using seafoam and MMO oil along with 15w40 fleet oil that worked good, now I use MMO and fleet oil the knock is gone and the oil consumption has gotten a little better great video thanks for sharing your efforts

my first experience with ceramic lubricants was with "fluna ceratec" a lubricant for firearms, experiencing first hand what that stuff does in terms of lubrication I started using ceramic additives for my car as well would recommend it especially if you know people who don't check their oil regularily...

Wow.... not only were you man enough to admit a mistake but you explained the real issue! It would have been easy to edit and claim your additives worked instead but you didn't. Bravo! And I wouldn't look at it like you wasted $40... you used good additives that are no doubt helping your engine out!

Ceratech is an excellent additive that "glasses" over high pressure points in your bearings and valves train. It lasts over 30k miles even between oil changes. Agreed, check pulleys, idler and tensioner gear at first signs of a knock. My only critical point: shake Ceratech like you are trying to break it before pouring it in. It tends to settle in storage with the beneficial, nano-ceramic material laying in the bottom of the bottle. I shake it up for at least three minutes before adding it to a fresh oil change, then add engine oil to the can and shake it up some more...just to get all of the good stuff stirred up and in the crankcase. It will not settle out in your crankcase thereafter if you daily drive it, or at least turn your engine over once a month. ^.^

You can also put a 5/8 fuel line 2 ft long hose to your ear and start with all your drive belts and pullys tensioners etc or put it on your block or a valve cover its amazing whay you will find be carefull with the fan while engine is running Repair what you find and drive it noise is gone ! I also recommend shell t6 synthetic 5w40 and a good filter

@harryberry474
@harryberry474 3 жыл бұрын
One question left unanswered ... Why did the engine sound quieter after the Ceratec was added? Much quieter than the Lucas additive. When in fact the noise was caused by and external a pully which had nothing to do with internal engine components.

pull the belt anytime you hear a noise. That will eliminate everything except the engine and transmission. Same thing with a locked up engine. I seen alternators lock up and the belt was holding tight enough that the engine would not turn over. Know a couple guys that replaced engines and then found the alternator was simply locked up.

woah! thats bad. I think you need more than an oil additive. I was concerned when I heard mine and its just a clicking. It was at the end of oil service and was getting low. Oil change fixed it. How much did you add? I would think you can add too much. What was the oil level when you started and could that have been part of the problem?
