I'd say if I pay that much for a shoe I expect it to be more lasting. Or that a protective sheet is included in the sale. I own shoes from no-name brands that seem to be more sustainable.

They actually have this service for free at least in Belgium! I got a pair of heels as a gift and was told to wear them for a bit and give them back to the shop. Wearing them beforehand will show my specific pressure points when walking which they’ll use to adaptthe soil to :))

C’est stoped dreaming to buy Louboutin when I heard him (Christian Louboutin) say : « I could make those shoes horribly hurtful and women still would by them. Actually I have been doing it for years and look at them buy my expensive and uncomfortable shoes ». What an awful thing to think and do. 😅

I get it done for my expensive shoes, it’s about $50 a pair for both the sole and the heel. The sole savers last a few years before they need to be replaced.

I'm so old that it was customary to resole and reheel one's shoes at least once. Now days, we have so many pairs, they never wear out.

Yup! I am fortunate enough to have found a new shoemaker after my old guy retired. He did a terrific job on reheeling and resoling some shoes and repairing a handbag . Beautiful neat work.

That’s not exactly true. I put sole savers on all my designer shoes as soon as I bought them. It’s not a question of having so many pairs, it’s a question of not wanting them to wear out in the first place.

Not to take away from T&H’s business or awesome work, but they literally sell giant stick on protection pads for those shoes. This should be purchased and applied before the first use.

Have you ever done a leather resole on Louboutins with no sole protector? I know I've seen pictures from other repair shops of them resoled with JR.

This is great for saving a nice pair of heels. Can any sole be repaired in that way? Are there limitations?

Limitations are the cobblers skills and the material in the shoes. Some types of rubber and plastic can't be glued, and that makes it a lot harder and even impossible on some shoes like some models of ecco. The problem is often that they use an open-celled foam material, which is disintegrating in contact with water.

It's absolutely not a perfect match. It's a rubber sole saver. Since it's original leather sole it will be ruined by water. But the rubber makes the sole last longer and not so slippery. Actually changing a sole on a shoe like that, is something I wouldn't do or recommend. Very hard to get a good result.

I cant believe cant they afford in Italy they have anything best quality cant come up the idea my wife has dozens of them I do own a two pairs and one penny loafer The first thing I did when I bought them back many years ago Adding sole protectors and buying pedag high arch insoles yeah the I wish all this should be premade in the factory greetings from Moscow.

There is no close up of the sole at the end. When I pause the screen and look the crease looks very visible. Seems to ruin the shoe.

Yeah, it was visible. It would look better to put it on the entire shoe, not just the tip. I also think the crease at this point of the shoe might make it fall off quicker. All it takes is one tiny edge that gets loose

Hammer on a sole saver 😮 A huge no no according to my former boss 😅 Straight in the press, with a rag on top so the pad doesn't leave any mark 👍 And I hate those red soles! 😂 Probably the most boring jobs as a cobbler 😅

Pretty much all designer shoes are like that. I have 2 pairs of Valentinos and had sole savers put on them as soon as I bought them.

It normal for the paint of leather soles to wear and scuff. Doesn't affect the utility of the soles. People who own lb like the red soles so they have to do this stuff.

Lesson 5,973,901 to not fall into the trap of buying things like this. Very cool they CAN be fixed and even made a bit better with some grip but I'm not buying shoes designed to fail me. Makes me feel a lot better I'm getting some custom made with actual molds of my feet that will last forever as long as I find good cobblers like these guys. The few folks I know with these never wear them, just leave them in the box to stare out. Which, well. Aren't shoes supposed to be for putting foot on ground? Not stay wrapped in tissue paper?

I went into a shop that had these Laboutin shoes with the red bottom. They were poor quality to me and the price for them was ridiculous. I was really disappointed as I thought they were going to be amazing. The more of these designer clothing, bags, shoes I inspect the more I’m sticking to normal clothes, etc.

The paint is “supposed” to wear because then you need to buy new ones, showcasing your vast wealth. These shoes are only valuable because they’re expensive lmfao. They’re like a peacock’s feathers.

Why leather soles? Because if you wear them inside, you can perfectly just use the original sole. And please go for full leather shoes it's the best material for your feet. And dancing shoes normally have leather soles all the way around! Just saying since some say this is a fault on the shoes.

Looks to me like the product is defective from the factory. Great for shoe repairers. Any other industry aside from fashion the goods would be returned as not fit for purpose. Because heaven forefend you wear your shoes on concrete gasp!
