Nice video and good work. Nice to see MotoAndy again. You may have one free fuse for add on devices on some motorcycles. You can use it if your motorcycle have it.

Hi J8zzy🙂 of course, there is one free fuse to connect accessories, but the fuse has voltage all the time and I wanted everything to be powered only when the ignition is turned on

Andy, for the USB outlet: If I understood correctly, you connected it in parallel to the ignition circuit. Meaning, you bypassed the ignition circuit fuse. If this is correct. you now do not have a fuse protecting your USB outlet unless it has its own built-in fuse...). And if indeed so, and say something goes wrong with the USB circuit/load, wouldn't it present a risk to the ignition circuit?

Hi Andy and regards from the US. I'll be interested in getting your feedback on level of vibrations of the SW-Motek GPS mounting HW. Saw a few You tubes in which some folks complain about vibrations which interfere with ability to read maps and such... Just wondering. Love your videos!!!

@MotoAndy Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks. I have heard about this problem but never had it (by the way, next week there will be a video about mounting this mount to my V1SE) I have never had problems with the vibration of this mount, I can read maps without any problems despite the fact that I usually use reading glasses. Maybe the problem is with other brands of bikes that have higher vibrations, I don't know. As for me, I can safely recommend this mount, I am pleased with it. Ride safe.

@@MotoAndy Okay Andy, got it and thanks much. By the way, what specific handlebar bag are you using? I am thinking I ought to get one. Again, thanks and I'll be looking forward to viewing your GPS mount video! Best!

@@MotoAndy Same from my side. I use the SW Motech GPS mount with a TomTom Rider on my 2022 Versys 1000 S without any problems like vibration etc.

Thought the SE version came with the USB socket from the factory. Sorry got confused with the lighter socket and USB socket.
@MotoAndy
@MotoAndy Жыл бұрын
Yes there is lighter socket, I use adapter lighter/2xUSB but it's not enough, I have a lot of batteries and other things to charge at ones so another 2x USB is very handy 🙂

I'm no electrician but this feels very wrong. I would have taken the power directly from the battery, with a relay acting like a switch from an ignition / ACC wire, test the amperage and then put a fuse on the wire. I'm gonna laugh if you blow a fuse every time you lean to the left or right (cornering lights) or when you use the horn 😂
@MotoAndy
@MotoAndy Жыл бұрын
Yes your right, your not an electrician, 9,000 km with this connection and not a single blown fuse, and no additional cables hanging around the battery.🤔🙂 Ride safe😁

@@MotoAndy I wonder why accesories such as fog lights or heated grips come with their own relay and fuse then... 🤔 I guess they are just wrong. They should just tell people to modify the fuse box and connect to anywhich wire on their bike instead 😁 Usually you make such great videos, but this one is a fire hazard waiting to happen 🔥

@@sunnycloudy1337 I can see we have to agree that we disagree.🙂 I will come back to this comment in some time and let you know if my Versys has already burned down.😉 And by the way, I am an electromechanic by profession😐. Have a nice day 🙂

@@MotoAndy That's the thing, I don't want your Versys to burn down, or other people's motorcycles that have watched this video. If you are a professional like you say you are, why don't you explain how these connections are totally safe, instead of being a wise-ass about it? 🤗
@MotoAndy
@MotoAndy Жыл бұрын
@@sunnycloudy1337 all connections that can be seen are soldered so here you can exclude the possibility of overheating of the cables due to poor contact, I did not change the fuses to larger ones which could cause overheating of the installation, all devices connected by me have low power consumption, connection to LED cornering lights or the horn does not overload it, each fuse in the electrical system have so-called reserve, i.e. simply speaking, has more possibilities than the device that is connected to it. So far, I have not had any problems with fuses or overheating of the installation, I charge several devices at once, such as the phone, batteries for cameras, drone and others, the navigation is always connected. And finally, in this video I show how I did the installation in my own motorcycle, I am not forcing anyone to do the same, although if you read the comments, you will notice that there are people who connected their devices in the same way and no one mentioned blown fuses, my previous versys had the same connections and I rode almost 40,000 km with it, no problems at all. I do not persuade, I do not force, Your motorcycle Your decision.
