Tonight is Burns Night, where Scotland celebrates its most famous Bard, Robert Burns, by reciting poetry and eating haggis 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🥃
We join Army veteran Cammy Goodall at the Army School of Bagpiping in Edinburgh. Accompanied by pipers from the school, he recites the poem ‘Address to a Haggis’.

My mother was from Edinburgh, and used to call me and my brother wee cockney goats, when we played her up. We ate Haggis, Neeps and tatties, and got Our Wullie and The Broons annuals every Christmas. And everyone in London knew a "Scotch" Jonny or Jimmy! 🇬🇧 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤

Do many modern day Scotts understand the language of this poem ? Without modern English subtitles I would maybe recognize very few isolated words but nothing more.

Marvelous, magnificent and a‘fully inspiring the gladly willing spirit sacrificing the weaker flesh for the greater purpose and sensation by becoming the conscious victim of a Burns‘s night feasty dinner, a delicious, juicy, spicy and tasty Haggis, no matter how many legs or limbs the honorable creature, that freely gave itself in grace and dignity to fulfill its purpose, accompanied by the only true water of lif! Uisge! Slainte mhath 🥃!

Great presentation ! Deserves an Oscar. Although now everyone calls us, Ukrainians, the most terrible warriors, but I'm still a little afraid of these Scots. Bravo Scotland !
