I have a huge amount of respect with you being young parents, I have no regrets having my son at 19 and daughter at 24. I wish more would be like you. So many girls want to be Independent and single until their in their 30’s. A lot of good years pass by struggling with one income working 2 jobs. You need to just let the negative comments and questions roll off your back Katie and Travis. The negative statements, not really questions that you read , were done out of jealousy. People see how young you are, you have a house, a tesla, travel a lot and they get extremely jealous. The assumption is that you must be getting financial help from your parents. First of all their is nothing wrong with parents helping with a big purchase if they can. What is unique about your families is that in every aspect of house renovations you have a family member who can probably do it. So for the house you were not paying labor to redo it. That saves a ton of money. So just ignore the idiots here on social media. They hide behind a keyboard making nasty comments because their own lives are miserable and they cannot stand to see a young couple so successful. Keep what you are doing and you will be fine. I think you’re going to make wonderful parents.

I am a yankee (from NJ, actually) and I live in the south. Being outspoken is a trait of the northerners which southerners tend to think is “rudeness” or snobiness.. Especially people who are from the NYC area. Katie is sandwiched in the middle of a large group of siblings, between the older group and the younger ones. She probably had more independence when she was growing up than her siblings and was able to speak her mind a bit more than the olders did. She says what she thinks and maybe lacks a little finesse about it. It’s not rude and It’s not wrong. Just different from the other Bates children. She doesn’t speak in the same sugar coated way that many southerners do and others in her family do. I love how Katie calls it “Jersey” now! Very cool. I am also 5 months older than my husband and he never ceases to remind me that I’m an older woman. Haha.
