I have a British friend who has exactly the same cockney accent as Adele. I remember at first it was so hard to understand her. This summer we met again, and I could definitely understand her. In fact, I like listening to Adele's interviews every time I want to know if I have improved haha (that's the reason why I'm here). One day we went to the beach, and while talking she was surprised that I could finally understand her accent, hahaha. oh my god. even though i can understand most of what adele is saying, i have to do a post-processing of the words and the phrase to truly understand what she just said. it’s definitely not “i’ll leave this playing as background noise and still understand what it’s about” material.
