Adele halted her Las Vegas concert to confront a security guard who was hassling a standing fan.
“What is going on there with that young fan who’s been bothered so much, since I came on, for standing up? What’s going on with him?” she asked.
She assured the fan that they wouldn’t be bothered again, then resumed her performance.
🎤 Adele interrupted her concert in Las Vegas on Saturday to confront a security guard.
😨 The guard was reportedly bothering a fan who had been standing.
🎵 In the middle of her song “Water Under the Bridge” Adele stopped to ask about the incident.
🎙️ Adele addressed the issue with the security guard and asked him to leave the fan alone.
✅ Adele assured the fan they wouldn’t be bothered again and continued the show.
💡 Adele isn’t the first performer to stand up for fans; Taylor Swift did similar in May.

If they were making a disturbance by waving some huge flag, or running up and down the aisles, fine. But they weren’t. They were simply stood up in the seating spot they had paid for like anyone else and were singing. People need to get a grip and stop policing the enjoyment of others when it’s harming no-one. *“Land of the free” my ass.*

@@fang_ukthis is why concerts with both seating and standing sections are best. Those who want to stand can buy standing tickets, and those who want to sit, can also do that. There is more than one way to enjoy a performance, we just need to be considerate of others

Obviously you’ve never been to a concert before - I’m being facetious of course, but the point stands: it’s a collective experience, not a singular one - it’s as much about the people around you and how they’re enjoying it as it is focusing on the Artist/Act on stage. It’s not rocket science. If they were making a disturbance by holding up a big sign, waving some huge flag, or running up and down the aisles totally out of control, then fine…but the fact is they weren’t. They were simply stood up in the spot they had paid for like anyone else and were singing out of pure joy of being in the moment. People need to stop being such Grinches, get a grip and stop policing the enjoyment of others when they’re harming absolutely no-one. I think a little reading between the lines wouldn’t be amiss here sadly. Seeing someone enjoy a gig that much would just make me smile and would only add to my memory of it - I’ve seen enough live shows over the years with experiences across the spectrum from this kind of joy to stage-invaders and fist-fights. If people think this person’s joy is problematic, it says far more about them than it does him!

The two male security was ok with that young man, I think it might have been some fans behind him that might have said something to the female security. That fan was just so happy to be at her concert and to hear her stand up for him just made him delirious.

You have absolutely no idea of what they or anyone else at a show may have been thru and how Music may have gotten them thru some awful times. Live Music is a shared experience, not a singular one - and to see someone so happy for an hour or two would rub off on me in the best way and only make the show more memorable, and considering the hundreds of gigs I’ve been to since the 80’s, I can tell you I’ve seen a lot of stuff go down, and this is far from an issue. I do see Adeles point, but I also see the point of everybody sitting in the vicinity behind this guy. Think if this was the EXACT opposite; being everyone standing up dancing and singing, and he was the only one sitting quietly. But he wasn’t the only one standing, and he was enjoying a concert. There’s no rules at her shows against doing what he was doing, clearly. The artist much prefers everyone act the way he was instead of being boring (in most cases)
