You have changed my entire routine taking care of my Desert Rose. It's starting to bloom all over again. And my roots are flourishing beautifully. Turns out your technique works on Hibiscus as well as other tropical-loving plants🌸

Mr. Le, I was gifted a 16 year old Desert Rose plant from seed, I know this because it has got the large Caudex, (about 10 years ago). I was only told to lift the plant once every year, until now I was not taking the proper care for the plant But after finding your videos on the proper care for them I feel a lot better about owning one. But I don't know if I got this right and hope you can explain for me. I re-potted the plant in a larger lower pot, (with the proper soils you suggested) cleaned the roots and caring for them just like you in your previous video. But then I pruned the branches back leaving the 2" like you said to in a previous video, this was a hard prune at the end of April this year 2023. My Question: How long do I leave it in the shade and how long before I water it again.??? You have inspired me to do my very best for this Desert Rose plant and I thank you for that.!!! THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge about these and other plants it is appreciated.!!! TIA Kelly Walton From Fort Myers Fl.

After watching your videos, I luckily found some desert roses at our local box store and bought them to give to my husband because he likes topiaries. Unfortunately, we/he haven't kept up with the repotting schedule. Ours don't look like yours! You have the gift of a green thumb plus a lot of patience!
@DanTheFireman Жыл бұрын
New Palm Beach county subscriber here, I am fortunate to have a good friend who has Adenium nurseries here and in Thailand with many new varieties (Durham Botanicals). He is all about the caudex and likes the A. obesum clean base look, trimming all the smaller roots while I also like yours and am more about the blooms. Seeing yours has inspired me to trim and repot to maximize their potential and like how you use the styrofoam in your repotting to spread the larger roots. I was pondering whether using cedar mulch in the bottom of the pot as well as a top dressing would discourage insect pests like ants, caterpillars and mealybugs/aphids, won't hurt to try.
