toodlescae I had not heard the Everly Brothers for some time and I happened on this Reunion Special, they did a wonderful job singing in harmony. Then I scrolled down to read some of the comments and read your comment that they are both gone now. Felt sad and blue over the news but reminds us all how short life is and how precious memories are. You Tube has made available much of this musical Gold of the past, thankful for that.

This was like the first time they had sung together in 10 years, they got angry at each other after a show in the 70s and didn't speak to each other for like 10 years. So, them looking at each other was probably them saying I'm sorry brother, it was petty, I love you.

A huge influence on the Beatles. Paul McCartney mentions the Everly Brothers in his Wings song, "Let 'Em In": "Sister Suzie, brother John, Martin Luther, Phil and Don." The Everly Brothers had a song called "Keep A Knockin,'" about NOT letting someone in...surely "Let Em In" was inspired by that song.

They are brothers and have been singing together all their lives. We had great talents in our generation.

Their harmonies might be the most talked about and respected by all the major singers of a certain age. Linda Ronstadt and J.D. Souther come close.

Omg. Beautiful and excruciating at the same time. I never saw them perform, so I’ve never heard that slow version. I was starting to tear up by the end.

I think this was their best performance of this song, ever. So heartfelt, so moving, so in sync. Absolute genius on display. No one will ever top them for harmonizing. This concert was their big reunion in 1984, after a 10 year rift. In London. They had made up and started touring again.

Extremely beautifull interpretation. The song originally, belongs to french singer and composer Gilbert Becaud, named "Je t´apparitiens" (I belong to you) (1955). The first english version was made by Manny Curtis and was performed in 1957 by Jill Corey. Wordings were changed but melody maintained . Dong e¿was finally popularized by theh excellent version of Everly Brothers (on 1959?).
