They came out around 92, whengrunge , hit, so this was basically ignored. Such a good band with great songs. Check out some other great songs , like: hard to love, with a little love, and saviors never cry. Speaking of great Canadian rock, check out an amazing female, singer, Chrissy Steele, her videos for " love ❤️ you till it hurts, and ', " love dont last forever", are amazing! Killer voice, and looks!

Harri the biggest reason this song never broke in the US is because Harem Scarem signed to Warner Music Canada and never got a proper U.S. release and it also came in just as grunge was taking off. They did have great success in Japan and Europe though. Harem Scarem is the most underrated melodic rock band of the last 30 years, easy. Unbelievable harmonies, and Pete Lesperance is one of the best unknown guitar players on the planet. Thanks for reviewing this! I highly recommend Bite The Bullet, Change The World, End Of Time, Die Off Hard, If There Was a Time and probably their most famous rock track - No Justice.

Strong ballad for sure, but sounds a lot like other big groups of that time (big hair bands), so you and I agree. They needed to separate themselves and be more unique is my guess. Really good tune though. Thanks Harri❤️👍

Harem Scarem is my absolute favorite band! (A little FYI, your thumbnail picture for this is of the wrong band) Harry Hess is one of my favorite vocalists, and Pete Lesperance is such an underrated guitarist! This song was released in 1991. Other songs you should check out are Warming A Frozen Rose, Stranger Than Love, With A Little Love, Hard To Love, How Long, No Justice, Change Comes Around, Saviors Never Cry, Distant Memory, Blue, So Blind, Die Off Hard, The Paint Thins, Honestly, Just Like I Planned (from Mood Swings, not Mood Swings II), Jealousy, Had Enough, Love Reaction, Death Of Me, Aftershock, Gravity, Wishing, Indestructible. Just SO many great songs released over the years

Come on, Harri ... let us know the year the song came out. Please. I've never heard this song before. Surprising, seeing that it looks to be from the 80's. Edit : 1991 . Harem Scarem's debut album. Self-titled. Nice song.

First song I heard from them when it got played on Much Music back in the early 90's. Instantly made me a fan. They're still playing and sounding incredible too. Never made the comparison to Survivor, but they're also among my favorites so... maybe, I guess? :P Oh, the band in the video's thumbnail... no idea who that is, but they're definitely not Harem Scarem. Lol.

This song (not the album) hit #25 on the Canadian charts in summer 1991 right before Nirvaana did the so-called grunge explosion in late 1991 and 92 which was not as big of a deal in Ontario Canada as it was in lets say Seattle. They had one other song on the Canadian charts hit #68 in late 1991 the ballad "Honestly". There is also "With a Little Love" and " Hard Love" from their debut album. Fun fact the kids seen surrounding the band in the abandoned building are actors from the most recent season of Degrassi at the time. Harem Scarem were latecomers that's why their career and fame got messed up in the beginning.

Got to disagree with you on this one. Very very well produced standard BS pop/hard rock.. I held on till the end hoping for something creative, not found!!

That's your opinion. Most people don't listen to music for , creativity! And just because something would be considered ". Creative", does not mean it's any, good. Most popular bands, and even some of the greatest bands are not, necessarily , creative. This band and this song are outstanding!

Harem Scarem ,so much talent. These guys live on stage sound incredible. Can’t forget the vocal talent of Drummer Darren Smith!
