Definitely do! Great for coming up with systems to try and bring some routine in your life, unfortunately we’re not built to follow them through 😂

I was watching the body language panel and your video popped up. Ditched their video for yours. Always lovely to hear more about your ADHD journey and see you here on KZfaq. I was diagnosed in October this year by Psychiatry UK. I’m waiting to go on medication. Hearing you talk about your experiences makes me feel less alone. You’re doing a great job under difficult circumstances. Loved the figit toys and your rainbow furry pencil case. I think the figit toy you had as a child was a spinning top. That’s what they were called when I was a kid. I’m nearly 50 so they may have been called something different when you were a kid. 🐰💕✏️🌈

You are not alone. The wait will be worth it. The titration team is amazing. They really listen to you and are really nice every time I had issues with medication and they were understanding.

Ahh, that's so sweet, thank you for sharing with me. I had a really great experience with P.U.K and so I hope you do too. Thank you, I appreciate that, it's hard because even though there is so much information out there now on the internet about ADHD it's like I'm only realising it once I live through it, if that makes sense. The furry case is sooo soft and pleasing to look at. 🌈 I'm so glad I'm finally living out my colour and texture fantasies 🦄 Spinning top! that's it! My absolute favourite toy. 💗 lovely to hear from you again 🫶🏻

Research into Strattera. I did and although it seemed like a great idea after the research I wasn’t sure. It may take a few weeks to work and it can make you feel sleepy. Also a few KZfaqrs didn’t notice a difference in their inattentive symptoms.

I have inattentive ADHD and Straterra made me a slug. I just wanted to sleep all day. Luckily, my doctor is awesome and after 3 weeks switched me to another medication.

@@GoADHDGo Thank you for sharing your experience. I feel so much better about my choice to stay on Elvanse. Drinking green tea instead of decaf coffee and working out in the mornings definitely helped me with its side effects.

Hey! I recently came across your channel and really appreciate finding a KZfaqr who is so open and honest about the ups and downs that come with mental health. I was wondering, do you have any tips for journalling for self-improvement? I am looking to start journalling more consistently and would love to hear/see a video about the different journals you have and what you find yourself sticking to vs. things you have a hard time keeping up with. I'm definitely one to start a million different notebooks and never finish any of them!

Hello, thanks for reaching out and your kind words. Ooo, currently one of my favourite topics! I'd definitely be happy to share this in a video, I have recently started one called the 6-minute diary and that's pretty great! The main method is, morning: 3 things you're grateful for how you intend to make this day great positive affirmation on the day Evening: 3 great things that happened to you one way you could improve one thing you did that's kind Let me know if you give it a go! 💛

The bonus content is very interesting and fun, cheers. Wonder if you do any kind of self-scoring for your adhd symptoms? I do it pretty much every day and have over 150 entries. I started meds in July 2022 and am only finding a combo and dose now (25mg Strattera plus 30mg Elvanse is what seems to work well). It’s very useful for seeing what meds, doses, timings, food and med holidays (weekends or longer occasionally) works best. It’s also very helpful for seeing how my ADHD symptoms return when I go off meds so I know what benefits they are having. As someone once said: life is lived moving forwards but understood looking backwards. Having the scores from the past is really interesting…analysing them let’s me move forward with great information and hopefully make solid decisions and get the results im after. From what you said at the start of the video, it sounds like you and your coach do something similar in evaluating productivity. Highly recommend this kind of thing to anyone. Be your best self 🎉

Aw you’re welcome, glad you enjoyed it! I don’t but I can understand the benefit of doing so. Wow that’s amazing you’ve been able to keep up with it so long. I think I would be in a better place if I had done so because my memory is so patchy I can’t remember if I was better off on any meds anymore 😵‍💫 Do you take weekends off regularly now? I think I could work with that schedule so that I ate well on weekends. Thank you for sharing that wisdom, so funny how the universe works, this message is so relevant for me right now. I don’t have the benefit of having a psychiatrist to contact anymore since P-U.K. discharged me, so I’m going to have to do it all myself and I feel like I’m not qualified to be dosing myself with stimulant medication 😂 I’d feel more confident treating myself with THC/CBD at this point 🥹

Oh my gosh, that must be so hard. They could have discharged you by mistake. I don't think that they do that before you have medication and the dose you are happy with.

😮‍💨 I feel like such an idiot, I was told this would happen and I've just let myself down by not chasing up trying a different medication sooner. I honestly don't know what I'm going to do at this point, will have to let it play out.

@@SianKatie You have come such a long way in your journey with ADHD don't let this set you back. Chasing and admin are really difficult if you have ADHD. I am sure that between the GP and psychiatry UK someone will come up with a solution. If you have a choice of GP you can ask for an appointment with another doctor. The first GP I went to for ADHD didn't know anything about it but the second did and agreed to signpost me.

I found out that you can get your medication from you GP. Ask the practice manager about advice and guidance. It’s a constant service for ND.
