Super easy choice. The Boston 12 has a wider toe box and a 6.5mm drop instead of a narrow toe box and a 10mm drop. I will be sticking with the Boston 12 without question.

55 km. so far in the Boston 12 and I don't regret my choice, even if SL2 is a bit lighter and less expensive. I must admit Adidas did a great job with this new release; hopefully the upper failure in the previous version will be a thing of the past we'll gladly forget. The excess weight as well... Now the Boston is a nice Jack of (almost) All Trades, and while waiting eagerly for Adios 9/Adios Pro 4, I'll surely enjoy !

Boston is plated, and a way better shoe for everything racing wise, but sls are training every day shoe :)

Yes The B12 has the energy rods but not in carbon. I don’t know but I believe I would not use neither the B12 nor the Sl v2 for racing. I use them mainly for trainings, but of course it depends from runner to runner. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏😊

Anything without a plate should be an optimal daily trainer ,then you build your rotation around that me thinks , so great 👍 job by ADIDAS on this new SL2 and to include a healthy slice of lightstrike pro into the mix 🎉🎉🎉 , expect that the adisole will hold up but parhaps some contintental rubber wouldve sealed the deal !

I totally agree, great for trainings and also as a daily trainer. I would also prefer a bit of Continental up front and maybe a torsion system to improve the response, but it is indeed a nice shoe

I got the sl2 about 3 weeks ago and I ordered the b12 about 10 day after. I had the chance to check em out and I found the toe box was extremely loose so I decided to return them to the store and get a brooks ghost max, which after 30km I’m in love with for easy long run cause feels good even when I run bit sloppy the last few kms. I’ll use sl2 to combine with the takumi sen 9 or 10. I think sl2 will be good for some easy tempo. Saludos desde Vietnam bro!

Yes Carlos, the B12 has a wider toe box, therefore the forefoot sliding which is not ideal especially in tempo runs. Did you take half size down or the normal size you wear. I tool the normal size and I was wondering it half size down would not have this issue in the toe box. I love the SL2 so far, after about 80km, especially for tempo runs yes. @@runningwithstelvio I just ordered one more time, now from adidas website. I went 0.5 smaller than my regular size. I hope now it fits.

@@runningwithstelvio I just tried the B12 yesterday and certainly was a sort of mixed emotions, kind of love and hate. I like how it fits and the wide toe box, however, the middle sole is where the issue starts. Is comfortable but I feel like my heel sinks and the response isn't as reciprocal as I expected. Isn't snappy and to be honest can't feel rods are doing a great job or at least not as efficient as I wish. Anyways, I guess I need to give it a second chance and try different pace. I was running with Takumi Sen 9 and 10, sl2, brooks ghost max and adios pro 3, so maybe I get used to a different shoe response. A shout out from Vietnam brother!

@@carlosgarciabanda Hey Carlos thanks for sharing it. I had similar feelings like you and also in my case they don't fit so well. I haven't felt the rods as well, and to be honest other cheaper shoes are doing better in terms of response. The AP3 is a great shoe! Thanks for watching bro! 😃👍

Excellent Video Stelvio! Just one small thing - the rods in the B12 are made of fibreglass and not carbon. Adidas use carbon with their race shoes eg Adios pro 3 or Takumi Sen 10.

Thanks a lot, yes you are right, that is the reason why I haven’t felt that much difference with the SL 2 in terms of response. My joke was a bit provocative from my side 😇 but actually in this case is not carbon

Id probably get the SL 2 later this year. I do have the Boston 12 and love it but it wouldn't hurt to get the SL2 given its price. Maybe on Christmas both shoes would be discounted.

Yes, I would wait a bit because you gonna get them at a lower price. If you like a more responsive and firmer companion of the B12 then it is the right model to pick

I find the Boston 12 very good for long runs. The longer the better they feel. I tried the SL2 Fit is wider in the midfoot so better for me. Very comfortable but so soft I don't know how it will be at 225 km..?

Thanks for the feedback, I feel the SL2 less softer than the B12, we are going to check if the midsole last as the B12. After 100miles I will do a second video

Hi i am binging your videos lately haha. I am a true Adidas fan and only running in adidas. at the moment i rotate between supernova for easy and boston 12 for treshold/tempo. Adizero pro 3 for racing and intervals. at 77-81kg i need just a bit of stability. but youre making me really hyped for the SL 2... my boston and supernova both have 400-500km now and i am looking for a new one. do you think the SL2 is a switch and for what type of shoe? my easy or Z2 runs are ranging from 5:30-6:30 with some strides. treshold/tempo is more 3:50-5-min per kilometer. i am 186 with 80kgs atm and a good amount of muscles

Uhh if you are used to run with the B12 or supernova, you might have a slightly less comfortable experience even if the SL version 2 is definitely more comfortable than the previous version. I’m running with the SL2 and I like it but I would suggest you to test it out in the shop maybe in a treadmill if you can. I believe it could be a good switch if you a bit stiffer and firm midsole

@@runningwithstelvio okay I will have a look then. For today I just love my combo. 6x1k in the b12 this morning and a z2 run now in the supernova (which are perfect for slow pace) But when the are worn out I might switch the b12 then? As I am doing my tempo/treshold mostly in an hour.

Thanks, I’ll double check them. I took them from the Adidas website at the first week this shoe was released, as it happened in the past Adidas might have changed
