Never seen Messi so happy and comfortable in an interview. Zizou is one of the very few people in the world who can truly and deeply understand what it feels like to be Lionel Messi. Putting their footballing attributes aside, these two men share a ton of life experiences… the pressure of heritage (Maradona/Platini), World Cup glory (2022/1998), World Cup trauma (2014/2006), Champions Leagues, El Clasicos, retiring from the national team before coming back, leading by example without being vocal…. Many parallels which shine through this interview. Great job @adidas 🙏🏻

Zidane, for me, is my all time favourite player. I saw him live once, for France, and he was a magician. He's a big man but could just glide across the pitch, and literally had everything in his prime. Speed, technique, ability, power, backed up with this underlying aggression and with a nasty streak, I always thought he defied physics, the way he moved, the way he played.

Es parte del fútbol y todos lo saben. No trates de criticar a Messi si no tienes idea de cómo este deporte saca a relucir tus emociones. ¿Estuvo bien decir eso? No. ¿Es entendible? Imagine having these two in your team in full fitness and form 😮😮 that’s scary, zidane was always so classy on the ball. Personally being from Scotland and luckily being at the champions league final at Hampden I will never forget that zidane volley it was special. As a child my first ever football hero was maradona , I was 7 for italia 90 but I of course seen videos of maradona before then too. I always said no one will ever be better than him apart from jimmy Johnstone of course 💚 but I have to say for me personally messi is the greatest to have ever played the game , even now at 37 he is performing well. I personally now watch mls purely to watch messi play, that’s how big a star he is

Zizou no longer has to hide what he thinks of Messi since he isn't coaching Cristiano. He can admire Messi openly. And you can see just how much Messi admires Zizou in his body language, the way he is eagerly leaning towards him in the interview. My two favourite players of all time.

Zizu puede ser una leyenda y Messi super humilde, pero los dos saben que si alguien tiene que estar nervioso en presencia del otros, ese es Zizu. Con todo lo grande que fue, tres Zidanes no hacen un Messi. Y esto no es en detrimento del frances, es que no hay nadie vivo en el presente que le pueda hacer sombra a Leo.

En estadisticas y profesionalismo seguro. En calidad de futbolista me quedan serias dudas... Para mi Diego sigue siendo el mejor futbolista de todos los tiempos. El despliegue y la cantidad de recursos técnicos que Maradona aplicaba en un partido de fútbol nunca se lo vi a Messi. Maradona metía asistencias de chilena. De chilena!!
