My mom is a single parent after our dad passed away in March 2019 and let me tell ya…it’s been hard but so far it’s been a blessing because he may be gone, but his spirit is still alive. I mention this because even though you are a single parent, your spirit will never change who you are inside. Hi hi! Just wanted to pop in and say you’re doing amazing. Just the sentiment of you wanting to not let your emotions interfere with how you raise your kid is really amazing. Can’t think of a time where my mom didn’t involve me in fights with dad or not vent to me about whatever they fought about if I wasn’t there. And when she was mad at one of my siblings then we all took the heat like, if I hear yelling even now I run and go to make my bed and make sure my room isn’t too messy and like pretend to do some work, like I just make sure she doesn’t have anything to get mad at me over. Anyways just letting you know that from the perspective of another kid you are literally the best mom on the planet. I know these KZfaq shorts show like one minute of your life but I feel like you have everything so organized and your life put together and you won’t have a problem at all adjusting to this new lifestyle. I'm sorry you're going through this. I took am suffering through these emotions. Thank you for your transparency, you're a better mom that you know. I've had to become ok with crying occasionally in front of my kids. What they need is true human emotions and experiences, with a mother still fighting to provide the best she can for him. My love I’m 34 and a mother of 3, I went through the same with my oldest but I was thankful for that break up because it was a toxic home and my daughter was my only priority. I struggled and dealt with the exact same emotions thoughts and days you’re facing now, but I’m promising you GOD has not left you. You have a community of support and love from us all here on KZfaq and if we lived close to each other we’d all be dropping off meals and taking turns with deacon. Most cities have single mom groups as well, my mom relied HEAVILY on them when I was growing up, they're just little groups of mom that trade off child care, set up baby play dates and mommy play dates, they're an amazing way to build a community if you don't have one

I’ve gone through something similar just days ago. The faking happiness is the only way I get through work, but the sadness punches me in the face if I have too much time to think or if I find myself alone, in a place where no one can see the tears that are never too far from my eyes lately. We have to be strong for our little one but also make time to grieve for the lost of our relationship. Sending you prayers.

It's a very sad time, what you are going through.Your words so resonated with me regarding you being so independent but never thinking that you would be alone or coming from a family that's broken. I thought much of the same. Eventually, you just keep on keeping on, but in the beginning, it is extra harsh to deal with so many negative emotions.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I was a single mom for the entire first year of my son’s life and alone during the entire pregnancy without a partner or family during covid in 2020. It was so hard, but it is amazing what mamas can overcome when faced with challenges. Take it one day at a time. Often moment by moment. And if you believe in a Higher Power, rely on that strength and pray constantly. Have hope! I never gave up & upon encouragement I started dating again when my baby was just 4 months old! I was super picky and after about 8 months of off and on again dating as I could on Hinge, my perfect match and I found each other and we were married last June! I know you are probably not thinking of dating right now, lol, but get back out there when you’re ready! And until then take good care of yourself. Baths, tea, nap when your baby does, lots of water, walks. You are a good mom and inspiration and you are not alone! I hope these words help in some way. Thank you for the bravery to share. ❤
