I mean genres change definition over time, but damn, Hardstyle really did mean a lot of different things over the last 25 years. Early Hardstyle, Classic Hardstyle, Nustyle, Rawstyle... And now that Hardtechno assimilated the early/classic style of Hardstyle, Rawstyle has to become even crazier to differentiate itself. It's kinda funny.

Zaag kicks, PVC kicks, ping pong kicks, fake drops, et cetera. Even more than 2 kicks in a single track was rare in those days.

Yes, kick drums with more tonality and more melodic rhythm (melodic kick rolls) in the 4/4 time signature drop is super fun to listen to, the genre I still going through an evolution with the kick switches, zaags & color bass kicks. It will only progress ma.

@@peter2598 IDK what you mean. Classic hardstyle is and will always be around. This is just another sub-genre that rose out of messing with the standard rawstyle formula. The scene is more diverse that it has ever been by far, and it will further keep moving that way as it grows and gets more poplar. I love me some good Euphoric Hardstyle when I'm on the job and just chilling. Some Nasty Hardcore/uptempo when working out and some banger Rawstyle and Extra raw when going to party. Isn't it beautiful having so much choice in music depending on what you want. All the genres you love ain't going nowhere
