Coast guard is not part of the armed forces. Coast guard is part of the department of homeland security just like TSA. Police force may be?

The coast guard is part of the 6 branches of US military, which consists of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force

@Gen Grant just because it's not under the Dod doesn't mean it's not part of the military. The POTUS has the authority to move the Coast Guard under the Navy during a time of war. It's the only group under Homeland Security which IS part of the military. Furthermore, Coast Guard personnel are issued Dod ID cards and receive a DD-214 upon release from active duty, plus benefits same as any other branch of the military. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Coast_Guard

This appointment holds no weight compared to being appointed commander to the Army, Marines, Navy, or Air force, and the military knows it. Veterans joke about the coast guard which is why I believe Linda should've been in charge of a branch other than the coast guard.

@@jonnhanzo9529 I don’t claim to be an expert in the military. I was in the Army and do know little about the navy. It still should have happened a long time ago. Go buy a History of Women five part series of books and read it like I did and you can learn too. Your reaction seems typical of someone who is uncomfortable facing the fact that there are privileges with gender. Women can have privilege with gender too.

Men buy us drinks with their unequal pay. We usually keep the kids in a custody dispute. We usually work in jobs that don’t get us killed as often. That doesn’t change the fact that male privilege exists and this man needs to recognize that to stop being a part of the problem. We can do what men do. Because of social conditioning, we may not do everything as well, but with enough time and practice, even those few things we will be equal in.

No. This woman was in the military with 40 years of experience but LITERALLY the out of the 23 she was directly appointed by the president. 🤣🤣🤣🤣senate must confirm the nominees unless the president nominates someone. And that only happened once before to a retired rear admiral were the president appointed them. . Since one of the requirements is active duty. Now 2 people out of the 23 were directly appointed by the president. She skipped the line and you want to brag about that? I mean if your arguing from a politicsl standpoint But as a servicemen you show she stole that position
