Hahahaha brother. A very nice character & you’re good with comedy brother. Take it from a person that, without sounding arrogant or falling victim to the few randoms that feel the need to troll, LOVES comedy. I love Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, Doug Stanhope, Bill Connolly, Joe Rogan - & I wasn’t paying attention to the tutorial - in a good way. I just wanted to know it was possible. I want to accompany my games with edits.

That is a sequence of images loaded into a replay.

You could use an image sequence but not a video. you can import the character animator file into after effects and comp in the video there.

Im so confused, like where do i get a background from? maybe im missing a piece of this video. the whole point was setting up the scene but its missing the key factor.. how to get the scene

You need to make your own image to use as a background

I'm trying to have something similar for my students, but I want the character to read a book with them. Is there a way to import the book to where they can see the words AND the talking character?

You could have every page of the book as an image layer in photoshop. Group all of the images and import that file into character animator. Now you can add a layer picker or a cycle layer with pause layers to that group. You can then trigger the pages as you read them.
