I mainly made this video for myself so that (I) don't forget how to do this, 5 minutes after I fumbled through figuring it out. So it's not a "polished" tutorial, but it does result in accomplishing the task of creating a tiled template for creating "tiled" PDF sewing patterns.
In the new versions of Adobe Illustrator, this task is super easy, however here in CS3, it has to be a work-around in comparison- but not impossible.

Fortunately, Adobe CC has an automatic tiling feature now, but when I had this older version it was tricky at first. I plan on doing more videos soon!

Many thanks for the ARTBOARD info - have been following a tutorial using later versions of Illustrator which have buttons unavailable in CS3, so not all the info is of use to me. Yours has filled the gap.

You are welcome! Are you on CS3 still? I've upgraded to the Adobe Cloud version and it is so much easier now- I highly recommend it.

@@PaTTernHack I'm not on the old version. I have the newest software. However, this is the closest video I could find that got me anywhere close to where I want to be. If you know of a tutorial for the new software, I'd love to have it!! Thanks again!

hello :). wondering how we can include magins on the printout... and also, not sure if you have explained why you've used 7.5 x 10, instead of the letter or A4 size default... I have watched another video and she also used 7.5 x 10... just want to know the logic on using these measurements. thanks a lot

@@sanjay_media The logic for this is that following creation of the print document you can then print at a standard 8.5 x 11" where each 7.5 x 10 page from the original tiled output will have margins for the edges during your print.
