the level i've been hyping up for so long is finally here
math in adofai. ever since new "deco hitboxes" were teased, i was planning a collect 3-type level with a twist. eventually, i got a group of people to help me make this huge project, from the questions to the playtesting. luckily the process went smoothly, and with some help we were able to complete this level in only 3 weeks.
in order to play this level, knowledge of geometry, basic calc, and complex numbers, advanced calc and linear algebra is recommended.
regarding the music, 0mni agreed to make this huge 7-minute song for the project, which i am really grateful for, especially with the changing genres. they also had their own inputs regarding the level and charting, which allowed the level to be the way it is (with the interludes and stuff)
about the questions, i asked wroughtstream and m1n3c4rt to just make up some questions, and they made some really cool ones, and i implemented them along with my geometry questions. rikri later went over them and edited a bunch of them for various reasons.
m1n3c4rt made the portal image, level icon and thumbnail for the level and video, which looks better than what i was originally imagining.
playtesters rikri, bin and yuta helped with the questions and balancing as well.

WOW! as someone who absolutely loves math, never before have i played an adofai level this unique and awesome to play. i managed to figure out everything by myself except the last three questions, and you can probably find my notes somewhere in RDL, lmao. this was some of the most fun i've had in a while, and y'all COOKED with this level. GG!!!

Challenging questions from across mathematics, maze-like mechanics, and forcing me to learn what a contour integral is; absolutely amazing job from all contributors involved! To be fair, I did complete it illegitimately because I kept pausing to write things down and explain what I was doing, but I did end up completing the level without a calculator (or watching this video), so I guess it balances out? My favourite part has got to be the complex analysis portion. I mean, large power modulus exponentiation, eigenvalues, and an excuse to talk about the most beautiful equation (related: the cis f'n aka Euler's formula)? Yes! So much yes! Ahem, anyway, I was wondering if I could get permission to post a reaction/explanation video on this chart. I'm asking because I don't want to infringe on the turf of you or any of the other contributors in the case that someone decided to upload an addendum explaining the solutions, as alluded to in the other comments. Anyway-anyway, I could not stop praising this level if I tried, especially for making me appreciate my least favourite Neo Cosmos mechanic; pathfinding.

This was actually really fun to play through! Despite my… rough experience with math, gave it a shot. I got through geometry without much trouble, and despite not knowing basically anything about calculus I managed to pass it with 1 strike left! Turns out most of the questions were possible with next to no knowledge of calculus. Complex analysis though… I figured out the first question then brute forced every other answer by collecting every coin… it was quite tedious. I really wish there to be more custom levels like this.

great to hear! geometry is comparatively pretty basic calculus, we went for a more "time attack" kind of approach, with easier questions and shorter time limits complex analysis . gg on completing!!

I'll have you know I had to look up the residue theorem in order to do this, are you happy? God it's been a while since I had to do complex analysis, I learned it in college and then promptly forgot it entirely. Had a lot of fun with these questions, thanks for making this. Who knew that the intersection between math nerds and ADOFaI fans was non-trivial?

@@theLucidLibrary the pythagorean triples n and m are whole numbers by default so n m c 0 1 1 1 0 1 3 4 5 4 3 5 6 8 10 8 6 10 ...etc however, (n,m) = (1,0) and (n,m) = (0,1) dont work because of the pickup placement forcing you to get at least 2, and (n,m) > (8,6) doesn't work because of the amount of the pickups so you're left with only 3 answers, one of them being 3 and 4

i doubt thats true actually question 2 and question 11a are much easier, easily solvable with a few elementary operations and exponent manipulation not to mention the pathfinding required for q7 even if you manage to quickly solve the 3 questions, as you need to grab exactly one star and no coins while picking up every heart
