It looks like what happened to this stage is that all the turn angles were multiplied by 9/10, so 180-degree turns become 162-degree turns, and all other turns became proportional to that conversion. Twenty consecutive 162-degree turns create a 20-gon, since a 20-gon has 3240 degrees from the equation (20-2)*180=3240, and 3240 divided by 20 is 162.

I did the math a bit differently, but with the same result. The exterior angle ("deviation" from a straight line) is 360/20 = 18°, meaning that the angle is 180-18=162° instead of 180. This also explains why 270° pauses make what kinda looks like a mix between a pentagon and a hexagon. 3/2 * 162 = 243, so that's an angle of 117 on the other side, for a 180-117 = 63° exterior angle. It would make some kind of weird star if you let it continue, but if you only show 3 tiles of it, it's gonna look pretty much like the 60° of a hexagon.

This is honestly a lot easier on the eyes than the normal level, but it looks like absolute hell to sight read due to the amount of bends.
