Adolf Sens and Gustav Meine play 'Grossmütterchen' from Gustav Langer's 'Zwei Ländler,' recorded in Berlin on 11 January 1911.
I haven't been able to ascertain any information about Sens and Meine. Assistance needed!

I felt some enthusiasm for investigating (almost certainly I'd find out no more!) but I decided I'd better get on with lots of things that are very much less interesting! ...haha, in the course of which, I've just put down something on the table, which accidentally pressed the space bar, which started the upload playing again!

Have you looked for the Matrix number in the standard listings? Clearly it is an acoustic, probably post-WW1.

to judge by their narrow yet not fast Vibrato and the type of Portamento, both players sound German trained and must have been born during the last third of the 19th century.

That certainly sounds right. I thought this might date from around 1920, but it's just a guess.

@@vintagesounds3878 I agree. The sound of the recording is far too good to be an earlier recording. We also don't know how old the violinist were when they recorded. They could have been well in their fifties. Their vibrato reminds me a little of the Joachim school. Burmester sounded quite similar.
