Thank you so much for talking this argument and sharing your personal story. I love technology, even though, I am living a slow and sustainable lifestyle here in the mountain of Trentino Italy.

When do you apply Systems thinking and Design thinking ? Systems thinking involves problem solving in levels. Lower order problem solving is reacting to events. Higher order problem solving is transforming the mental models or mindsets of participants facing a problem. In between these levels, are responding to patterns and redesigning structures. Systems thinking is walking your way up : Events < Patterns < Structures < Mental Models. Design thinking is how you problem solve at the "structures" level. Examples of structures are things like the social media, regulations, etc. that can illicit intended and unintended behavioural patterns. Let me know you think. Do you agree with this idea?

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:20 🌐 Systems Thinking Definition - Systems thinking involves understanding the underlying structure and relationships within a system. - The iceberg model illustrates the levels of events, patterns, structures, and mental models in systems thinking. - Examples of systems thinking include treating the body as a system and viewing employees in a company as integrated parts. 03:29 🔄 Design Thinking Overview - Design thinking is an iterative process emphasizing empathy, lateral thinking, problem definition, and prototyping. - Key components include empathizing with users, questioning assumptions, and releasing Minimum Viable Products for continuous improvement. - The process encourages a deep understanding of user needs while challenging preconceived notions. 04:41 🔄 Integration of Design Thinking and Systems Thinking - Design thinking steps are integrated with systems thinking philosophy. - Each design thinking step is considered as part of a holistic system, not in isolation. - The unity of design thinking and systems thinking enhances problem-solving results for engineers, designers, and product managers. 05:20 🧠 Empathy and Understanding User Needs - Empathy is crucial in understanding user needs, but biases must be set aside. - Research plans should be free-flowing and not prescriptive, allowing for critical understanding of user insights. - In personal life, critical self-reflection and asking new questions can uncover deeper needs. 08:17 🔍 Defining the Problem - Accurate problem definition is essential for finding the right solutions. - Challenge assumptions and use the "question everything" approach to break down societal norms. - Thinking of the inverse of a problem can lead to a better understanding and definition. 10:33 💡 Ideating on Solutions - Ideation involves letting the mind generate various solutions to the defined problem. - Encourage creative thinking and consider the entire system for more impactful solutions. - Prototyping and testing multiple solutions can lead to the most effective outcomes. 12:39 🔄 Prototype and Test MVP - Prototyping and testing the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) is crucial for high-impact, low-tech lift solutions. - Establishing a feedback loop with end-users ensures continuous improvement. - A/B testing can help identify the most impactful version of a solution. 14:03 🚀 Resilience and Acceptance of Failure - Innovation requires accepting the high possibility of failure. - Embracing failure leads to learning, reflection, and the development of solutions to prevent future failures. - Resilience is essential for personal and professional growth, setting winners apart from others. The assumption is that if you flow through either method, you will find the answer. How can you prove the answer is right or wrong? What is your argument that either mythology will produce something meaningful outcomes? Is that you think the methodology is useful or someone who invented it and you took it as it is?
