I met Adrian on a rainy day in London. He was trying to sell umbrellas to get by. Adrian has been on the streets sleeping rough for a year now - this time.
As a youth Adrian spent a few years homeless. But worked hard to change his life and ended up working as the business development manager for bank. When the economic crisis hit he lost his job and couldn't afford to pay rent on his flat anymore.
He did go into a hostel for a short while but when he got behind on payments he was back on the streets.
Adrian tells the very real story of violence on the streets of London. Our friends sleeping rough are never safe. It's horrible living on the streets of any city.
Adrian has a dream of starting a t-shirt shop. He's even setup a Facebook page with his designs / 138220812967783
Adrian has 2 wishes: a flat and a job!
2017 update on Adrian. Not only didn't someone help him start a t-shirt shop, a young woman his age saw this video and connected with him. The two fell in love and were married this year.

About Invisible People:
Since its launch in November 2008, Invisible People has leveraged the power of video and the massive reach of social media to share the compelling, gritty, and unfiltered stories of homeless people from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. The vlog (video blog) gets up close and personal with veterans, mothers, children, layoff victims and others who have been forced onto the streets by a variety of circumstances. Each week, they’re on InvisiblePeople.tv, and high traffic sites such as KZfaq, Twitter and Facebook, proving to a global audience that while they may often be ignored, they are far from invisible.
Invisible People goes beyond the rhetoric, statistics, political debates, and limitations of social services to examine poverty in America via a medium that audiences of all ages can understand, and can’t ignore. The vlog puts into context one of our nation’s most troubling and prevalent issues through personal stories captured by the lens of Mark Horvath - its founder - and brings into focus the pain, hardship and hopelessness that millions face each day. One story at a time, videos posted on InvisiblePeople.tv shatter the stereotypes of America’s homeless, force shifts in perception and deliver a call to action that is being answered by national brands, nonprofit organizations and everyday citizens now committed to opening their eyes and their hearts to those too often forgotten.
Invisible People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the way we think about people experiencing homelessness.

Maximum respect Adrian. I checked out your designer label - Akat Clothing. I live in Oxfordshire but absolutely love sneaking down into London (City of dreams for a small town boy like me) at least every other month. Next time I'm down that way I'll pick up a T-shirt to show some support.

i live in london and trust me....rent is too expensive and landlords are terrible, i have been in london now for 25 years and during that time i have been turfed out of 3 different houses due to landlord selling up.. section 21....and am always near homeless... the only real way is to get a council flat or housing association...if you go private you are always near homelessness.... council is too hard to get , so is housing assoication..i was on council list for 15 years in hammersmith, and when the crunch came ..they only helped me get deposit for a PRIVATE RENTAL.....where after 4 years landlord sold up again..putting me back out on my ass. you have to make big money to live in london and not have to worry..either that or have a family who bought their houses in 1970s or 1980s

+Raw Tye Great comment, but i dont agree. Not true, but only in a sense that there are still people that will die fighting for you not even knowing you, just a helping hand in the right moment, when evil is lurking in the dark and you are helpless.......there are still many good people out there, they risk their lives while helping you. But what you said is also true for spiritless once who get together with those they don't love, they do it for safety, for financial gains or for other reasons, but never for love, and they aren't good friends in the first place, a kind to be avoided if possible.

I wish the man well but I think there’s something missing in the story. Seems quite flippant about ‘lost my job’ ‘lost my flat’ ‘lost my girl’. All in one go? No family, friends, savings, interviews for another job? An English speaking person will always get a job in London, it’s easy, you can always work in fast food if it’s really bad. I wish the man well, I hope he gets off the streets, if he even is on in them.

We have a lot of cruel people here. Very likely enacted by a Conservative government. I read English history and you'd think a law like this would be confined to the middle ages. I guess a lot of the cruelty from that bygone era is still very much alive and well.

James Murphy that's odd. I'm a staunch conservative, in a conservative state in the U.S. & We not only allow begging , we feed & house as many of the homeless as possible & conservative churches provide most of the free food & clothing. I noticed how you tried to hang that onto conservatives turning it political when it's liberal policies creating unrest & social decline. That huge public housing building that burned in the UK recently was full of "immigrants". They weren't homeless were they but your own people have no where to lay their heads.
