Yea I know it's only been 10 years, but the way Peterson runs is so different than backs you see today. Maybe the best pure runner in NFL history

SwitcherooU we just gonna gloss over Percy harvin and Kyle Rudolph when they were legit. Not the best weapons but they had players. Elite O-line too.and a very very good defense

@@Sports_BS rudolph was a back up and came out of the same class as ponder. Percy was out on ir at this point. And was having an mvp season at that point, percy.

Packer fan here. Adrian Peterson was one of my all time favorite RBs to watch. Him and LT were the greatest to do it in my generation. Hated playing against him, but dammit AP is one of the all time greats and first ballot HOFer

I remember the 2012 Vikings very well, just sprung out of nowhere. This game was frustrating to watch since I hated Chicago with a passion at the time.

That throw at 2:40 was actually pretty damn impressive. It sucks that Ponder was so inconsistent. When he was on, he was a fun dude to watch at times. Just made far too many mental mistakes when the pocket collapsed.

SinikkaL, Ponder made poor throws consistently EVEN when he had a pocket to throw from. The only thing he was good at was scrambling. I also don’t ever remember a time when Ponder was “on.”

At the end of the game, Ponder made a great pass tto seal the win. I thought he had figured it out at that point because after that he played like a completely different quarterback. Unfortunately he got hurt before the playoff game, and just couldn't put it all together.

He was definitely playing better in 2012. Looked competent at least. I remember actually wanting him to play in the playoff game against Green Bay. Unfortunately you’re right that he never could put it together after the injury.

He had plenty of time after this season to “put it all together.” Ponder was garbage. Period. This guy couldn’t even start consistently in COLLEGE. Whatever made the Vikings think that he was worth a 1st round pick will never make sense to me.

The Bears defense doesn't look normal. Just look at how they load the box for AP. You almost never see that. Also, Jay Cutler throws a damn nice ball. I had forgotten that.

Jay Cutler - wonder what would have happened if the Vikings had him instead of Ponder? And the Bears had Ponder instead of Cutler? As a Bears fan the idea of Cutler might have mattered much more for the Vikings.
