Matthew 11:28 give you rest , no more striving , no good works ... John 14:27 Jesus gives peace to us ( and hope)

@@Daviddaze Where does it say no good works in Matthew 11:28? Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” We were created for good works.. Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. He clearly states in Matthew 11 that he has a yoke and a burden. Can you explain to me what that means? This is what God wanted from Israel, they were not doing that. So he came to do this. We should be following His example. Isaiah 58:6-11 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday. The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

If only Christians would be bold and tell a dying world on a street corner about the ten commandments as the symptoms separating them from God. Psalm 19:7 Society is not taught right and wrong since 1963. As one is blindly stumbling towards a cliff, is there anyone to warn them of heaven or hell. After this life , judgment day, as all stand before the judge, who will be the advocate. The one who paid the fine, legally to let one go, Jesus, the redeemer, who sacrificed his life, said ' it is finished'. Put on Jesus like a parachute in this life for the jump to come.

I love Adrian Rogers. I love Easter Sunday. I praise God for the day that he rose from His grave. ❤But God said to remember the seventh day Sabbath in the 4th commandment, so I try to remember it. Nowhere does God say that He changed it. I go to church on the first day and the seventh day. But I don't judge anyone for any interpretation they have on the matter. I'm just striving to do what God says. I come short of the Glory of God.

The key to understanding how Jesus is our Sabbath rest is understanding what the Sabbath means. The Hebrew word shabat was the word "rest" in the Old Testament first used in regard to God "resting" from creation on the seventh day. The Sabbath would later become part of the Law of Moses, referring to the Sabbath day, Saturday, upon which the Jewish people were to do no work.

@@ericb5194 yes we are all God’s people but He made a covenant with the Jews fulfilment will be in the millennium. The Jews and the church are different. He is making us one but the fulfillment of the covenant He made with the Jews is still to come. This is why we will have the millennial reign of Christ and then we move into eternity

@@ericb5194 No, we are not in the Old Covenant, we are Gentiles in the New Covenant; and we will do as our Lord has instructed over misguided ppl did- in the OT, that even God said He no longer honors.

Constantine of Rome changed the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, as a “mark of authority” over God’s word. God says Saturday. Satan says Sunday. God says remember. The modern church says forget.

It brings us past dead religion and into life and joy with him. It brings us past dreadful fear and worries, and into a simple trust which is free in his love. It takes us past self-effort and self-righteousness into running in the imputed righteousness of Christ. Jesus Christ brings His people into true rest . Hebrews 4;1-13

A relationship with Christ frees humans from the works of the law and allows a person to rest in the work of Christ to forgive sin. Ultimately, those who believe in Jesus will spend eternity in a "Sabbath rest" with Him (Hebrews 4:9).

@@quiet-strength we keep the sabbath as we rest in Christ. The same way we keep the law as we are in Christ “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8

@@jessyjonas4988 We keep the Sabbath by keeping the Sabbath. Those who are in Christ are obedient to His law which is not a different law. What you shared is talking about the law of sin and death which is sin. What Christ freed us from. What we couldn't do in the flesh we can now do in the spirit since the law itself is spiritual (Romans 7) and we can now please God in the spirit. John 8:34-36 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. Yeshua freed us from sin and now being free we can walk as He walked.

But because of the weakness of the flesh and we not able to keep the Law of God it became sin and death for us. “ for apart from the law sin was dead. I was alive once without the Law, but when the commandment came in revived and I died. And the commandment which was to bring life, I found to bring death. For sin taking occasion by the commandment deceived me , and it killed me. therefore the law is holy and the commandment holy and just and good. HAS THEN WHAT IS GOOD BECOME DEATH TO ME? certainly not! But sin that it might appear sin was producing death in me through what is good…” Romans 7: 8-13

@@jessyjonas4988 The law became sin and death? Paul in what you shared said "Certainly not" Sin has no power over the law. It used the law to kill us but the law itself remained holy, just, and good. Now that sin has been dealt with we can be obedient to His law and keeping His Sabbath is commanded of man.

I don't see that anywhere in the New Testament. Acts 15:21 “For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath." Acts 16:13 And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there. Acts 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.

So were supposed to rest on the first day? complete opposite of what God says, and Jesus Christ did? Saturday is when you rest. and if what he says isn't enough, well than just change the 4th commandment, as they have slowly been doing. Jesus didn't come to change the word but strengthen it. Remember the sabbath, don't do as everyone does, but read and study for yourselves. Keep the sabbath.

Mark 2:28....."The Seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday) was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath". Worshipping God on the Sabbath is more blessings. Look for any SDA Churches anywhere to worship on the Sabbath (Saturday).

Adrian Rogers MUST KNOW that the seventh day is the Sabbath. Adrian MUST KNOW that it was Contantine the Great who attempted to change it to Sunday. Sabbath is the Seventh Day what we name Saturday. These categories of restvAdrian is referring to all point to the seventh, the Sabbath.

Rome changed the sabbath as a “mark” of authority over God’s word. This “mark” very well could be tied to the mark of the beast. As we enter into this era of the new world order, forcing us to honour Sunday worship as sabbath could be enforced by disabling our digital bank accounts, if we don’t obey.

Sunday is not the true sabbath of God. Nor did God create it only for ancient Israel. He created for all mankind at creation. Christ never abolished the sabbath. Why do so many christians obey the other nine commandments but have such an issue with the 4th?

Sunday is not the Lord's Day. Sunday is the first day of the week, not mentioned in the Bible as the Seventh-day Sabbath. Sunday is just another day.

Europeans solved the Sunday Sabbath by rearranging their calendar so that Monday is the first day of the week. Work six days and rest on the seventh, Sunday.
