This video was great! Ive been into photography for quite some time and was never a human portrait photographer. Ive worked worked more so with in the field pet portraits. Recently I have been contemplating doing studio type portraits and need to get a decent yet budget friendly set up. I am a micro four thirds photographer so a good lighting set up is needed. The small sensor needs more light and all. This was very informative and explained well. Thanks for this video!

Came over from Photo-Me-Ike. Thank for the great info! Wondering what your results are between the garage and inside the house? Do you think the surroundings change what you can get or do you think your lighting can overcome all of that?
@AdrianLardPhoto
@AdrianLardPhoto 3 жыл бұрын
Hey John. My results were pretty much the same. The only thing that really matters is how much space is available. You may be limited with what you can do in a very tight area. As far as lighting, if it's not the best where you're shooting at the flash will fix that.

Out of curiosity, why did you choose the portable flash system ( ad200, ad400...) over their studio strobe like the dp400, sk400 etc. ? I find the Godox systems kinda confusing - speed light - portable flash - strobes etc.. can't tell the difference.

No specific reason. The AD200 was one of the first flashes I found out about when I got started with flash photography. Then I grabbed the 400 when it was on sale. I don't find them confusing at all.

Not to mention then AD units have head extensions and are battery powered (no wires).

How do you do full body shoot in your studio and a plain white background?
@AdrianLardPhoto

I just roll the paper out and tap it to the ground. Full body shots can be a challenge depending on how much space you have, but using a wider lens can help.
