When I started studying this piece, I wondered what was the point of playing only the melody of this beautiful song, without the words which are so deeply moving. Adrien Boisseau has shown me here, unequivocally, why it is worth playing. This performance is sublime.

Richer than Violin, less showy than Cello: well it's my opinion: reminds me of Green Sleeves (Ralph Vaughan Williams); interesting both well suited for Viola?
