#AnaDeArmas broke down in tears at the #VENICEFILMFESTIVAL after #Blonde received 14-minute standing ovation!
She plays #MarilynMonroe in the film alongside #AdrienBrody.
The film is based on Joyce Carol Oates's 2000 novel of the same name - a fictional account of Monroe's life. Oates has always said that the novel is inspired by her own imagination of what it was like to be Monroe. It's been written and directed by Andrew Dominik,
Blonde is out on Netflix on 28 September 2022

@@beeben5260 Of course I have. Have you wached Marilyn's comments about her life and about how she felt?. There are some in KZfaq. Also about Misfits and her relationship with Arthur Miller during the shooting of Misfits. She had to take a rest because she was exhausted to say the least. Whwn she admits to feeling miserable most of the time , not all the time ,"like everybody else". She was an icon. She is a legend. We know she spoke sweet. Her marvellous voice. She was a good actress. She wanted to be taken seriously.I would like to know what you are asking about. Her films? In what sense? She was good. A star. But I think she missed many things in her career. She could have done better. Give her better opprtunities as she wanted to widen scope. Blonde was ok but there was much more of Marilyn than Blonde and she was not given the chance. Billy Wilder ok. Still,She deserved better.

Marlin was the most iconic expression of sensuality, grace & beauty. To portray her is not an easy task, one has to feel and endow her spirit to do justice with her character & life. Ana, has done an immense favour to us public, by re-creating and projecting the mesmerizing and absolutely adorable image of Marlin. We owe this tribute to her and we owe our thanks to Ana and the entire team of this movie for re-living the legend of this timeless icon. Hats off and hearts out for you.

There's a reason why they chose Ana to play Marilyn. Apart from her acting skills, Ana also has a very unique and radiating smile like Norma Jean had and you can see very similar facial features. Her whole face is glowing when she smiles including her eyes. It's just captivating. The mix between Ana's voice, smile, looks and acting skills turned her into the best version of our beloved icon Marilyn Monroe. Very well done 👏👏👏

AWFUL, AWFUL FILM. Disgusting, exploitative, pseudo-porn, and sad. It doesn't even play like a movie with an actual story. Just a series of moments of her being abused scene after scene. I don't get for the life of me how this was greenlit to even be made. The scene with JFK was VILE and hit a new low even for a film as bad as this. If you're someone who gets your jollies off of rape and physical and psychological abuse, then I guess you'll enjoy this monstrosity. But don't expect a story.

I don't believe anything she said. In constructing the character of Marilym they didn't take care the fact that Marilyn never used her image to create scenes in films with pornographic content (i guess this thing means something if you want describe the life of a person). The truth is that: this film is just a porn film conveyed as an arthouse film. It's only a speculation of a private life to make money: there's no respect in that. No way. This is not a movie produced for the cinema theaters, but for a television and wwa nnk eer audience. Perhaps Ana will likely be challenged by the various platforms that produce and distribute movies made first of all for television subscribers. Anyway I hope that one day someone will make a movie with Ana's biography: i'm sure that will be a real porn movie of a porn actress. She deserves that, because i guess, and i hope i'm wrong, this film is a brutal and disrespectful description of a life.

At this point what movie could be made about the life of ana de armas, willing to shoot a close-up scene while she gives a blo . ww .jj .ob (scene that Marilyn never made in her movies)? Private life is one thing, like it or not, public life is another. There is a way and a way to tell a story. The way these pseudo-artists have chosen is opportunistic and disrespectful, especially towards themselves. This is just a commercial film, sold to television platforms, and cowardly unable to submit to public judgment (at the end in Venice the film was badly received and it's been excluded from the Cannes film festival) which can be achieved in a meritocratic way only in one place: the cinema theater, the only place where the real Cinema can live.

I have just finished watching this film on Netflix and wanted to hear Ana's thoughts. I have loved marilyn since i was about 7. At first this film shocked and offended me, because even though i have read her life story l was not prepared to see the sad and abusive parts on screen. As it progressed l found myself thinking 'Well if you really love Norma Jean, you should see it through and go on her sadder journey. I don't know how this film has left me feeling because l feel like the child in me who loved all her images and was not tainted by the very sad parts, has now been left feeling rather disturbed. The acting is amazing , the writing and filming also. Even if l found myself speaking to the TV saying' surely this did not happen, this is very disrespectful', l kept watching. After hearing Ana and Adrien speak, l find myself thinking that perhaps they are right' maybe Marilyn would want this part told in this way. But she was a quiet and privite person so who knows. When you watch this film just prepare yourself mentally if you are attached to Marilyn, some of the scenes may trigger people. The film does give a warning before it starts. I am going to need some time to digest it all, but as i said l praise the acting and depth of the film. Someone had the foresight to take us to the other side and inside the photographs we often see and never know what is truely behind them. I understand Aurthur Miller more too now.

If it’s any comfort, it’s based on a novel that completely made up a “what if?” life story to make a point and an allegory. Monroe went through a ton of trauma, but the movie is mostly pure fiction. An experimental art film using her icon status as a vessel for delving into tough emotions and nightmarish stuff.

It is out there for people to hear or read in her own words. I think this may upset people , not because of the actors, who are all excellent, but because of those off us who have grown up up feeling so close to her. Sort of wish l had not seen it. There's so much that is factual incorrect, it's a disgusting portrayal of MM, and what she went thru. This was such a shit movie, I couldn't finish it. I was so disappointed that in this day and age, that they continued to twist how this woman was portrayed. Her life and her image was something that was created and twisted by Fox and the studios to make her a dumb blonde, when she was actual an ambitious career woman having to navigate a man's world where they took advantage of women. We know this still goes on with the #metoo movement and Harvey Weinstein episodes etc. To portray only this aspect of her as a shy anxious spineless mentally unstable dumb blonde is a disservice to what she went thru and endured. It's another story sensationalizing her as a dumb sex bomb. There's hardly any truth to her tr-ouple/ 3som and whitewashing of how studios locked her into a contract where she was under paid and forced to make dumb blonde movies sexualizing her. This movie is demeaning to her, and what women like her endured.

I don't think there is any problem with a Cuban like Ana portraying Marilyn Monroe. An actor doesn't have to be the same nationality as the character he is portraying. As long as the actor looks reasonably like the character he is portraying and he or she does the part well, there should be no problem. Ana auditioned for the part and she won the audition.

@@eb4001 That's because Latinos are all racially different. Some like Ana are of European stock and therefore white, others like Jennifer Lopez are mixed European, black and possible Taino, etc...Some like the late Celia Cruz are black, etc...

Thank You for the video wish it was longer lol ,but I have to say that I cannot wait to see this movie just by watching the trailer and that last scene where she’s crying for help, Broke my heart completely so I know I’m going to cry with this movie ,and I think I will feel Norma Jean pain because I really believe that this movie is about Norma Jean more than Marylin the character.

Aloha, she’s gorgeous and captivating, very similar to Marliyn. I watched Marilyn Monroe Movies in the Movie Theatres with my parents when I was 5 and 6 years old and have been in love with her all of my life. I also put together a MM show and did singing telegrams and people loved it and complimented me on how I was so much like her. I identify with her and feel her pain. Sometimes beautiful woman are so lonely, and they long to be loved for themselves, not just for their sex appeal and beauty. Marilyn is the Queen of the Beautiful Stars ❤️🌟💋.

Can't wait to see the movie. Adrien really spoke eloquently in his praise of her and from what I've seen from the trailer she's breathtaking. Likewise, I recall seeing her originally in Knock Knock and thought at the time she looked like someone who could play Marilyn Monroe. Now here she is. Good eye by the director. Side note to Brad Pitt (not that he'll ever see this) - PLEASE...PLEASE....PLEASE can your PlanB company get The Jaunt off the shelf (I know you guys own the rights to it) - and make it a film before I die?!! Been waiting forever and ever!

She's so beautiful and looks like she gave Marilyn Monroe justice. I haven't seen it of course but it looks great based on the trailer. She looks genuine and humble, good traits.
