We introduce ourselves all the time, but it's a whole other thing to let someone get to really know you and all the quirks and habits hidden inside. It's really special when you do have someone you can be completely yourself with, and one of the greatest things about having good friends who love and accept you as you are. 💞 (While sometimes also making helpful recommendations and encouraging you to be the best version of yourself you can be. 😉)
I'm very thankful for all of the friends in my life, and today's video is made in special honor of my dear friend Jheqia who has encouraged and inspired me in so many ways and always asks to hear what's on my mind. (Even if it's really weird 😏😅🥰)
As a perfectionistic introvert and shy person in general, I know introducing yourself can be really hard, and making friends even more so at times, but one thing I've learned is the more you embrace yourself and let others see the real you, the more comfortable they feel doing the same and a lot of my closest friendships were started from a very simple conversation about something we both loved.
(Though finding someone definitively opposite of you can be really fun too 😉)
Also, can we appreciate how much this song really fits Adrien?
So much of the earlier seasons Adrien was caught up in trying to present a perfect model son for his father and an audacious, flirty hero for Ladybug, but what really makes him endearing is his (oh no, here comes the pun) purr-sonality, and all the fun, dorky, clever things he comes up with.
Despite my frustration at them being together BEFORE the reveal (which is just asking for more drama and rips up my poor lovesquare heart) I really love how sweet and supportive new Adrienette is and how throughout these later seasons Adrien has discovered and been able to be more of himself and Marinette is more fully able to appreciate him. (as Cat and as Adrien)
Where was I going with this? 🤔😅 (Tbh my brain is way too mixed up right now...there's a dog barking, a room to be painted, and like fifty tabs open in my mind sooooo....yeah, I don't actually know. 😜🙈)
But I do know this - you are someone worth knowing, and good friends will appreciate you for the fantastic, random, wonderful person you are. 💖
Sometimes it's easier to play a part while trying to impress people and let them guess at the person within, but you may be pleasantly surprised by how much stronger your connections will be by showing more of your true self and have fun just being you.
So next time someone wants to know more of your brain - don't be afraid to show them!
It's okay if it's a bit confusing or takes some time to understand, and who knows - it may be pawsibly amusing as well. 😉🐾✨
We're all weird in our own ways, but that just means we all have something in common and you can make your friends feel better by listening to their hearts too.
