I hate that ✨Daddy Agreste✨ realized that Adrien was Chat Noir because he said “M’lady” but also because when does he ever go up to Adrien’s door, like once or twice in the entire series, like come on that is the most unrealistic situation ever I sweat

I read Adrien's immediate acceptance of Marinette as Ladybug differently than you did. I saw it as a relief to him, that he'd always wanted her to be Ladybug, and that now he didn't have to have Marinette on the one hand and Ladybug on the other and having to try so carefully to only love one of them (ie all the protests that she's "just a friend"). No, now he gets the best of both worlds, gets to love them both, and he couldn't be happier.

I do think Adrien likes everything he’s seen of Marinette. But remember, Marinette is her own worst enemy here. She vocally denies to Adrien she likes him before, acts bizarre and can’t usually get out a straight sentence. She hasn’t really let him in before this point. He can’t be faulted for not seeing all of her when she doesn’t show him imo

You know although Adrien's reveal was anticlimactic by how Mari reacted, it was also perfect. She wasn't overly obsessed to find out it was Adrien, rather she took the time to think about her feelings, and she took it super seriously. This is very mature and quite the type of mature content we need from her as a character. Maybe, one day she can find out it was Adrien, and finally confess to either CN or Adrien her love, maybe not identity but love.

I loved Luka's message about the more you learn and understand them, the more you love them. I think that message is good for not only for Marinette in the episode, its good for the watchers too.

I saw a theory that changed my world. Adrien is not a sentimonster, the Gram di Vanili rings can control people. The two are stronger together, which is why Adrien was able to fight off Gabriel’s commands. After all after Felix stole one of the rings Adrien started being more rebellious. I love this theory and even believe it, it might be true

Adrien was literally blushing after finding out that Marinette was the love of his life all along. I really don't understand why people say he fell in love with Ladybug's "mask" when Adrien himself says he fell in love with the *GIRL BEHIND THE MASK* multiple times. And moreover I never really understood the concept of Ladybug having a facade in the first place. Adrien acts differently as Chat Noir because it's the side of him that his emotionally abusive father won't accept. Whereas Marinette doesn't have any reasoning like that. Heck she doesn't even act all that differently that literally all her friends and Adrien veiws her their everyday Ladybug. I personally think Adrien does love both sides of Marinette already. He just needs to realise it in the original timeline.

I hated how they handled the Su Han plotline. He’s literally been a guardian & protector of the miraculous for longer than Marinette has been alive. He’s probably seen & been taught a bunch of stuff Marinette has no idea about (one example is the natural akuma protecttion he did in furious fu where by saying that his anger is his but it doesn’t control him he was able to avoid being akumatized) And all of a sudden just because it’s modern times & Marinette has impressed him all of a sudden he’s wrong with his approaches & Marinette has more knowledge & authority? He has every right to be worried about the Cat miraculous being out there without anyone checking in on it. It was ridiculous that he had to apologize to her. And in the end she didn’t even end up getting any sort of punishment for the awful battle.

I think the English-speaking fandom is so used to Chat calling Ladybug “M’lady” that this seems normal to us (hearing it and reading the subtitles). It’s important to remember that Chat, the character, is speaking everything in FRENCH. So to anyone listening it would be really jarring to hear a French superhero code switch to ENGLISH to call Ladybug “m’lady” (as opposed to Madame or mademoiselle). And Hawkdaddy has had “100” encounters hearing his enemy say this to LB. Of COURSE it would stand out when his son does it. (The same son who he has suspected before and knew EXACTLY where he was the ONE FIGHT Chat never showed up.)

Personally - i think “m’lady” was so detrimental bc i believe Gabriel was already onto him. Thats why Gabriel scheduled a televised press conference while he released an akuma. He wanted to see whether Cat Noir would show up or not, and why he created a sentimonster that practically NEEDED Cat Noir for it to be destroyed. That’s why Nathalie was so insistent that Adrien stays; “your father is counting on you, Adrien” etc… In addition, the scene where Gabriel tells Adrien that he needs him to do the interview, Gabriel is staring at Adrien’s ring whilst fidgeting with his own. I think he’s suspicious. FURTHERMORE, in Glaciator 2.0, after Ladybug just rejected Adrien, hes wallowing in the park and Gabriel sends an akuma his way. He realizes its adrien and he then tells Adrien that he can talk to him if something is wrong. Some might say that was just Gabriel trying to be a good parent, but i disagree. Personally, i think this is completely out of character for the apathetic narcissist that Gabriel is, and his offer didn’t sound very sincere to me as much as it sounded like he wanted to get information out of him. I think that Gabriel has been slightly suspicious for a while now, or at the very least, wouldnt be shocked if it turned out to be true. edit: i just rewatched the season 2 episode “Syren” where Master Fu comes over to the Agreste mansion and pretends to be Adrien’s substitute tutor. Gabriel had a suspicious look during that scene. I think he started questioning whether Adrien was Cat after the S3 finale when he found out Master Fu was the guardian, b/c he started connecting the dots.

I think this episode is an affirmation of a character that is still a blur: 1. Luka with the role 2. The love of Marinette and Adrien 3. Adrien's role in the battle between good and bad and the burden he bears 4.Adrien is the key to winning the battle.because he is between the two. Both are people he loves, both have the power to control him(Evil:sentimonster while his heart wants to be good)

I do believe that Adrien does love Marinette. Let's remember he's is blind to his actual feeling towards her, as we saw multiple times in the series and that slight pause when Marinette revealed herself. He was making the connections and finally understanding his emotions to know the person he loves is the one he admires and cherishes the most in the world is a big win for him. I also love how the episode showed Marinette falling in love with Adrien again; because, indeed, Adrien and Chat Noir act very differently from each other, it's easy to believe that they're different people and for her to finally understand that she feel in love with Adrien completely two times was beautiful. One really heartbreaking thing was when Marinette was asking Adrien for help. I could see in his eyes how tired, angry, and depressed my sunshine boy was. From discovering that his dad is Shadow Moth, finding out the truth about his mother, his dad being an abusive jerk to make him hurt the one he loves the most, and how helpless he feels because of it, my poor baby. I feel like this episode was rushed in the end, but I love it because it gave us different opportunities to see how knowing their secret identity makes them stronger, united, and happy. It also shows that they really can't be together (yet) because that wall between them isn't their mask and secret identity but Gabriel from being an abusive dick who will do literally anything to get his hands on their miraculous. To an extent Su-han from the way he treats Plagg with his fear and paranoia about the black cat miraculous getting into the wrong hands. Overall, I love this episode, and Luka is definitely my future husband one day lol lmao.

I think Adrien fell in love with Marinette's side of LB. He saw her be scared to fail, he saw her fail and he saw her doubt herself. He didn't fall in love with Ladybug, he fell in love with the girl who still stood up to Hawkmoth even though she wanted to give up her miraculous because she didn't have fait in herself. He saw her put her fears aside and do what was right. All this happened in the Origins episodes and in Miracle Queen. Chat has seen LB be at her worst. So I don't think he is blinded by LB's good qualities.

The problem is that because we only see Marinette's side of the story, we don't know if Adrien also fell in love with Mari. Maybe he already does, but we don't know because in Mari's eyes he only sees her as a friend. Adrien only tells other people that Marinette is just a friend. And he also thinks Marinette sees him as just a friend, because she told him to his face like 3 times already.

MAKING A POINT: Obviously Cat Noir is in love with ladybug AKA Whoever is under the mask (Marinette) We should all know that he does actually love her due to the fact that in Chat Blanc whenever Adrien realizes Marinette is Ladybug Adrien runs up to Marinette and she later says "does it mean you like the buret" then he said "it means I love you" Based on this and how Adrien showed his love in Chat Blanc, I have a settle belief that Adrien really does love Marinette as "more than a friend" in Ephemral.

this is why i believe that there needs to be a switch in the love square and marichat needs to happen before we can have the reveal. then they will love each other on both sides.

I compeltely agree with you! I like Cat Blanc more, but the love square moments were so sweet. I feel bad for Adrien though after he said "Good night, M'lady". I've never seen Adrien with that peaceful of a look on his face like his world was finally settling into place

Adrien likes Marinette already. He is just confused by him loving Ladybug as well which is why he always says "she's just a friend" about Marinette. That's why when I saw the reveal... I thought of it as Adrien being relieved because he can finally admit his feelings to himself without feeling like he's loving two persons at once.

I don't think Adrien fell in love with the "idea" of Marinette. It's been very well established throughout the series that Adrien likes to think that Marinette is LB and loves that. His reaction to that is VERY different to Chloe being LB, in Lady Wifi. It's never been verbally addressed, but it has been shown numerous times that Adrien has feelings for her. The things he does for her aren't even close to what friends do. It's very OBVIOUS. It's more obvious for him than it is for LB having feelings for Chat. The problem here is not him being in love with the idea of Marinette. The problem is that he hasn't admitted that he is. There are many reasons behind that but it ultimately boils down to the fact that we need to see more from his perspective. And until we get that, this debate will forever rage in the fandom. I understand where people who say this are coming from, but I definitely think he has feelings for her, there are just too many signs. The reason that Adrien accepted it immediately is because he can totally see Marinette being Ladybug, he sees a lot of similarities between the two of them, unlike Marinette who thinks they are two completely different people. That's understandable cause Adrien makes sure that those two people are so different that he himself is unsure of who he really is. Marinette on the other hand shows her LB self all the time, there's nothing holding her back. The only time she doesn't show LB is around Adrien, but even that's considerably decreased this season. So Adrien could totally see them being the same person, which is why he accepts it so fast.

Possibly controversial opinion: my favorite part of the episode was Ladybugs initial reaction to Adrien revealing himself. I think it’s very in character. First of all she doesn’t suspect Adrien in the slightest, she never has. And Chat Noir would totally take a serious moment like revealing their identities and initially say some absurd celebrity that clearly isn’t him like André the ice cream man or Adrien Agreste. She has a very romanticized image of who Adrien is in her head, one that Chat just doesn’t fit into as we saw later in the episode. So when he said “Adrien Agreste”, she said LMAO GOOD ONE I’M AUDREY BOURGEOIS and Chat just stood there like 🥲…aight try me bish, claws in. Absolutely savage. Love it. And her solution to dealing with it after getting over the shock was to h*eckin dive off the Eiffel Amazing. Encore.

We can see that Gabriel has started touching his ring after Felix stole his one. Maybe it is a subconscious or conscious thing he does to make sure that his ring is with him and it has nothing to do with Adrien being a sentimonster.

I also think it would be abit hard to have all four sides fall in love mutually if they were unaware of eachother. If mari falls for chat and adrian, then she has 2 crushes. If adrian falls for mari and for ladybug then he has 2 crushes. If they confess( in any form ) the other might reject since they also have feelings for the other side. I’m not sure if that made sense

When Adrien thought Chloe is LB , he looks disappointed he seems like he doesn't like that idea at all. When Alya became LB , he gets mad and again doesn't like that idea either. But when it comes to the idea of Mari being LB even before this episode he really wanted it to be Mari. Like how he always try to connect the similarities of LB and Mari. He's just too dense to realize it but we never know, there maybe a future episode in MLB wherein Adorn will finally realize how he truly feel about Mari even without him knowing that Mari is LB.

3:15 I completely agree, however I think this is deliberately done by the writers. It’s the exact same reaction Adrien had in the episode Cat Blanc. He clearly has feelings for Marinette and accepts her as LB straight away because of that. So I reckon the acceptance of his feelings for LB’s civilian form won’t be until the end of season 4 or more likely season 5. Not to mention “the wall between us” song has Adrien saying at one part; “Even though, when I think of her, I feel like it’s wrong, I would like to escape to see my Ladybug. What’s wrong with my heart?”.

Ok ok but what if the ring itself has a certain power that can control/manipulate someone to be obedient. Remember, the ring is part of Emelie’s family (something of which we still don’t know much about and saw emelie’s sister fighting with Gabriel about getting it back) . So it’s not that adrien is a centimonster but that the ring has its own power.

Maybe the reason why this went downhill is because it wasn't the perfect time for Adrien to fall in love with Marinette, BUT it was the perfect time for Marinette to fall in love with Adrien's alter ego (Chat Noir)

Can we appreciate that Miraculouslylazy is looking gorgeous she is a queen as always, and I do agree some of the points that you pointed out in the video!! Marinette has to love Cat Noir and Adrien has to love Marinette they're the same people and they will realize that and love each other for who they are and whenever the final reveal happens it's going to be pretty good but the one that we got in ephemeral was amazing even if their memories were erased

I didn’t think about Adrien’s POV that he didn’t fully accept Marinette as Ladybug. I liked Mari’s POV of her showing changing her feelings to accept Adrien 100%. Hopefully we can see both of them take time to accept each other. When you like or love someone yes you have to accept their flaws & push them to be a better version of themselves.

I think the character development we need from Marinette is that she needs to loosen her feelings with Adrien, she needs to be comfortable around him to show him her real personality, the one she shows to chat noir. This way Adrien might actually fall for Marinette. Same thing goes with Marinette falling for chat noir, but it seems that she's more flexible to adapt in Ephemeral. But again, I don't know how this is going to work because they're just going to stay loyal to who they like. If they lose feelings completely for one and the gains feelings for the other side then wouldn't it be SO COMPLICATED? This love square they've created for themselves is just so aggravating.

I think both characters or at least Adrien needs to love Marinette as a whole meaning her Marinette and ladybug side. Bc with Marinette, at least she didn’t just fall in love with the idea of Adrien after the reveal, but she went thru development and learned to love both sides of him, not just the idea of him being “perfect”. This also proves that while we want the reveal sooner, it’s best to let them develop more and for hawkmoth to be out of the picture. Also this ding dang show is giving me life advice for when I’m older, like for example, learn to love all sides of a person before making assumptions bc of what u see

I agree with everything you just said but if Gabriel got his wife back and the universe was reborn again, there would be no Ladybug and Chat Noir. Paris would not need them because Gabriel has all that he needs. Marinette and Adrien probably would never meet and this storyline would never happen. However, this would only work if Gabriel's only wish is for his wife and not power. Also, there was little to no progress in the actual storyline from this episode. It was all just a fantasy and none of it remained after Sass brought everything back it time. I was expecting a lot from this episode and it did pull my heart strings but it also lacked a lot as well.

For the Gabriel finding out who Chat Noir is they should’ve done a parallel to Chat Blanc. Maybe Gabriel was about to enter Adrien’s room (just like in the actual episode) & he hears Chat Noir say “m’lady” so he looks up & sees Chat Noir leaving Adrien’s room (kinda like how Ladybug left Adrien’s room in Chat Blanc) & that’s how he finds out!

I had a different thought on what really happened in this episode. When Adrien found out that Ladybug was Marinette he was really happy about it but he's not going to show all the emotions the way people think he would because he thinks he knows at that very moment when finding out that she doesn't like him any more than a friend. If you look back at the Chat Blanc episode Adrien reacted much differently when discovering that Marinette was in fact Ladybug because of the obvious Marinette gift that showed a little more than friendship with the heart embroidered hat. Then he goes and directly tells her that he loves her and they kiss. In Ephemeral HE DIDN'T KNOW THAT SHE LOVED HIM!!!! That was obviously explained afterwards to him because they were obviously dating afterwards but you cant be completely disappointed because Marinette was never good at showing her true feeling to him so can you really blame the kid. All he knew was that she wanted to know his identity and vise versa to be able to communicate out of costume. I don't know about you but that doesn't seem like a love confession if you ask me

I agree with this episode being kind of dissapointing; for this being the 100th episode. I feel like they really rushed this ep just to get it out asap, I also feel like it always relied on the magic of the script. I would've wanted for Adrien's crush on Marinette to be shown as well just like Marinette's. Then maybe we could actually say that he loves her for her, not because she's Ladybug. AND THAT PHRASE THO- I'm no story writter or anything but really? Just for saying m'lady Gabriel knew? I really really didn't like that part, that's why I think this was a rushed episode. Just hope any other special episodes to come in the future actually feel special and not just regular one of the mail ones

Loved the episode xD I knew it was going to be one of those “going back in time” episodes so I was expecting it. I love how the writers are showing us the difference of when Adrien finds out first (chat blanc) and when Marinette finds out first (this episode) I feel like they’ll have to find out at the same time for the reveal to really hit us. As said in previous episodes by wayz I think it was or master fu. In due time. The pot has to continue to stir or something like that lol

I would’ve wanted to hear at least adrien saying marinettes name in disbelief. Also it kinda broke my heart when marinette yelped for adrien to save her from hawkmoth yet he didn’t even react, though I mean he was akumatized. But still sad. Yeah poorly written indeed, thank you for sharing my thoughts as well.

Okay so hear me out: 1. In Cat Blanc we see how none of the two parties are ready to know. 2. I’m ephemeral we can see that Marinette is more prepared to accept both sides of adrien, meanwhile adrien isn’t ready just yet. For example in Glaciator 2.0 instead of him feeling a little bit of something for marinette, he realized that he will not give up on lady bug 3. I think in a future we would see a ‘what if’ episode in which adrien will pull a marinette in ephemeral So yeah that’s my two cents into this topic.

no i agree i was SO HYPE for this episode and very disappointed at the end. like it was still good and there are worse episodes fs, but there are definitely better episodes, even just in s4 (optigami, sentibubbler, wishmaker...) i just hope the finale episodes and gabriel agreste are as good as we’ve been told

I think we need an Adrien Episode, from his perspective and in that Episode how he sees Marinette. So we could know that he definitely has feelings for her. So it would make more sense when they get together this way.

I get that a lot of people didn't like the episode all that much, and yes some parts of the episode were not well written (Gabriel finding out Adrien is CN because of M'Lady) but I genuinely loved the episode! I thought it was funny, cute, it had lots of new info, and the animation was great ☺

I think Adrien loves Marinette. I think he did for a long time but was just confused because of his feelings for ladybug. I remember a scene when he says to marinette: now I know why u were always special to me. Or something in that way. I think he felt it but didn’t want to believe it just because of he thinks of love. There are two people: the one they say you can only love one person and the other saying you love two people at the same time. I guess he just thinks of love innocent I mean he’s still a boy. So maybe he just couldn’t figure out what those feelings were for marinette because clearly he’s in love with ladybug but when he found out it’s the same person it made sense

The reason why I don’t really want to believe that Adrien is a sentimonster .. is one thing . Shadow moth would know where Adrien is and what he is doing ... and wouldn’t he be able to do the same thing he did with senti nino ? He took THAT senti monster and used him , and made him take the turtle miraculous and use it for bad .. and since senti nino is a well, a sentimonster . And he had the turtle miraculous on , shadow moth was still able to control him , right ? Should he be able to do the same with Adrien ? And know where he is and force him to say the things he says and does ? I don’t know , I’m kinda neutral with this senti monster Adrien thing ... but it kinda frustrates me 😔

What I saw was the reverse, Marinette fell in love with the Idea of Adrien, the Idol. I want the identity reveal to be official tbh...but now I accepted we aren't gonna see it til probably Season 5 or never.

*WHAT I THINK OF EPHEMERAL 🐞😸* *Intro* okay TBH she is right- now be for you come at me too, here me out. Ephemeral was THA BOMB, my favourite episode from season 4 so far definatly but um...... yeah *My reaction to the episode* I literally chocked and cried and basically any emotion you have ever felt, I felt it in ephemeral. It was really good, she was wrong that it was bad but let me explain on why I think i was....well not good *Why it was ''bad''* I really think it had alot to do with screentime, the episodes are only 20mins, thats not alot of time to show everything and like why this happened and why this happened it'd just, not enough time to show other fun stuff in the episode like how excatly gabriel found out adriend's identity *Chat Blanc* different from chat blanc Gabriel knew he was Chat because nathalie said not some dumb reason like my sunshine boy said *M'lady* in his civilian form, C'MON ZAG *Me angry at gabriel* maybe adrien was actually supposed to fall for mari first but it just couldn't happen. but hey Ephemeral had it's moments. good moments and dumb horrible moments that don't make sense LIKE HOW IN THE WORLD DOES SAYING *M'lady* MEAN YOU ARE CHAT LIKE GABRIEL WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU OMG, HOW CAN YOU JUST ASSUME- anyways. *What could have been* I don't agree that it was a bad episode I actually feel like if it was a movie like if they got an hour and 15 mins of screentime probably adrien would fall for marinette, chat blanc would appear, some nathalie and gabriel drama, Marichat kiss, Adrinette development before the reveal, Gabriel noticing that chat and ladybug are a bit closer (they are closer BC of the reveal) and he would stalk them and like get details and suspect some people who could be them, we could see gabriel go crazy and like just go at it with the akumas and itwould be like the epic battle of all time IDK but I really feel like screen time was the actual problem not necessarily the episode but yeah it's all good. *Final thought* Personally I wouldn't write the episode the way they did but anyway, as I said it was my favourite episode from season 4 and I am happy with it and I am done complain' so yeah OUTRO TIME >:D *Outro* Thanks for reading I appriciate all the likes and replies I get, anyway just saying don't claim my thories as your own, thats not right, credit is easy to do, see you lateRRRR, bye :)

Also guys dont forget this episode is after Glaciator 2 (MariChat Episode) and adrien (as chat nior) got to see marinette admit to her flaws and issues...I image when he realised it was her, he problably had all those moments with marinette and ladybug happen at once and just realised hes happy its her

I hate how much the adrien being a sentimonster theory makes sense after this episode. But if this theory is correct I am going to be heartbroken. One of the main characters who has been there since day one could be snapped out of existence in one second. Also what would happen to Marinette if she discovered that she has been in love and also has been a partner of a sentimonster. I still doubt that Thomas would do this cause when he started writing the base plot, had he really came up with sentimonsters back then? I don't think so, since we were introduced to sentimonsters in the season 2 finale. But ephemeral was insane but as much as I hate to say it, in more of a bad way. All that overwhelming for everything to be erased, and I am also not pleased about adriens reaction to marinette being ladybug. Its like he doesnt care about the "marinette side" Of marinette. It felt like he thought that "as long as shes ladybug" He like doesnt even care. I am a overwhelmed and a bit sad and disappointed of this episode. The positive things about the episode were Luka, Luka and Luka. (Ok cosmobug and astrocat were also FIRE). But Luka absolutely CARRIED the episode. The advice he gave to marinette when she was having problems with accepting Adrien and Cat noir being the same person, just wow. Thats advice that I will remember for myself like fr. Also the LadyNoir umbrella scene was beautiful with the the thunderclap. Even a small reference to the best moment in the show, is automatically amazing. Overall, unhappy of the episode but it definitely made me love Luka even more, he deserves better man like Lukanette would have been perfect, it sucks that marinette could not move on from Adrien but apparently Adrienette is just meant to be. Dont get me wrong I love adrienette but Luka, he deserved better. He is still so down bad. Also the 100 thing was repeated wayyyy too much like I only payed attention to it the second time watching it and the 4th dimension was absolutely destroyed I got to say.
