I apologize for all of the negative comments on here on behalf of their authors. I think that some people assume that they are giving constructive criticism, but it sounds more like backhanded compliments to me. As an adult learner, I realized that it took some time to find a presentation that worked for me, and this one surely did!

As someone who is learning Adult Learning for the first time to prepare for a training role, I found this video to be wonderful and exactly what I needed. I didn't need to watch the presentation since I was doing other things while listening. I've listened to it a few times and watched it once so far. I feel like the message didn't need lots of flashing lights and magic to get the point across. This was wonderful for someone like me who needed a very basic intro to this. Loved all 6 parts.

I agree with Rita. Very useful info but the delivery is flat, and the slideshow could be so much better. Jennifer - fixing these issues may buy you more customers.

As a visual learner, i found the lack of change in the slideshow distracting. It was as if i was waiting for the slideshow to reflect what was being talked about, but it stayed too long on each slide and i was distracted, the visual did not provide enough content.

Elearning Design, Presentation Zen, or incorporating story in a way that made this more impactful, or engaging, would have helped this presentation. This presentation made me "lose my attention at the speed of light." For someone who is in the adult education field, you would have expected them to put together a better learning/sharing presentation.

When I started teaching I thought to myself about what my experience was at school and I thought hell no! So I decided to do the exact opposite of what all my teachers did. Most teachers are trained pedagogists. Pedagogy means leading children. It is focused on shaping the behaviour and attitudes of children according to a cultural context and has very little to do with learning how to learn. Critical thinking and creativity are generally discouraged. Content is standardized. Competition and comparing yourself to others are encouraged. Collaboration, autonomy and communication skills are generally not. Real learning takes place after school where you are expected to learn from experience without any skills to actually *do* anything.

Great information, but just some personal observations: this is incredibly boring. This woman sounds like she's reading an essay and the slideshow design is tasteless. Thanks for the info though.

Good information but 2:20 of one slide makes me question how much you really know about adult learning. You missed some obvious opportunities to add in supplemental slides that would have greatly reinforced the message. I encourage you to continue to master the presentation verbally and, either redo your slides and/or get a visual expert who understands how adults process visual information.
