Watch a long winded journey to the promised land of early morning grinds in my yard. First shovel went in the ground August 18th 2023 and I finished this thing March 18th 2024. A buncha people helped.

Not bad. Got one in my backyard too. Not a bowl, but bowl on one end, flat face wall w corners and a pyramid in the middle. Hard edge and blocks. It's a blast

LOOKS AWESOME! I'm not great at transition, though I reckon I could progress pretty quickly on a bowl of this design as it looks just about the right size and gradient. Well done man!

Very cool. I had my buddies from Artisan Skateparks build a pool at my house back in 2007. It was a swimming pool in the summer and a skate bowl in the winter.

Dude this is insane! That’s my dream to have a small bowl in my backyard with actual pool coping. I really want to skate that! 👍
@AdultSkateboarderАй бұрын
The handpoured coping is great because.there aren't any seams. Hopefully less maintenance down the road.

It's super easy. You just have to buy a house and pay a bank for 30 years and dig and dig and dig and spend a couple grand on concrete 😂😂😂

Sick setup. Has anyone built a bowl/ park radiant heating? I feel like that would give my old bones a few extra months every year.

I have not but that would probably help it dry fast as well.

damn dude i built a halfpipe in my living room, but now im thinking i need this too. concrete prices went way up in my area. they want 30k for a driveway, so finding some guys is the way to go.

I'm a bit of a shit trowler as well, now I know how to hold it at least.... all in all what was roughly the cost? Especially for the 10 yards.
@AdultSkateboarderАй бұрын
I wanna say the truck was $2400, renting the concrete pump under the table was $1000 and then I paid 4 guys cash under the table as well. I think when you include all the rebar and other materials it was about $7k for everything.

Wrong proportions? Also wondering why there is no metal coping won’t the concrete just chip and get rough

30 years of concrete under my fingernails, that seems like a complex shape with elevations for not a great deal of rebar. I suppose it's never going to be under tension so it doesn't need much. Nice result. I can't imagine what I would charge for something like this.
@AdultSkateboarderАй бұрын
It's definitely not built to code haha. Most of the bowl is only about 3inches thick too but it's pretty sturdy. Also my wife says I have to demo it when we move away at some point.
