I see alot of people saying this looks soulless but I think its cool having Cartoon Network characters in the style of Adult Swim bumpers. They even have the checkered past logo hidden in every bumper like how AS is hidden in Adult Swim bumpers. Its like a wave of double nostalgia almost

I know some people believe that it's lazy for Cartoon Network to start doing re-runs of old cartoons but let's be real, most of those old cartoons are 100x better and more memorable than most of the recent flashy sparkly colorful vomit that has been produced in the recent years.

Agree.... I miss alot of the old shows. Some were bad (hated courage the cowardly dog, and alot of the super hero shit) but alot were honestly funny ;-;. Don't get me wrong I liked adventure time, it reminded me of some of the older shows, but cartoon network went down hill after that..

I do appreciate that Checkered Past is providing reruns of some of the network's most popular vintage shows (especially "Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy" and "Courage the Cowardly Dog"), but a lot of the bumpers feel hastily put together, feeling like cheap tack-ons with the repeated animations on various settings. Still, a part of me does appreciate the idea of replicating CN City-era bumpers (even though the originals remain superior).

In the case of Courage the Cowardly Dog, sadly, yes (except for Courage himself) and the original voice actress for Dexter. Maybe if they add more shows they can make the bumpers more elaborate now that the strikes are over.

Checkered Past only started a year ago, but two hours is not enough. Checkered Past should run from 5 PM to 11 PM. Remember when Cartoon Network aired way later than five? I remember when adult swim didn’t air on the weekends.

Pastel is underrated ngl, it’s not exactly like Cartoon Network but redraw your world was far much worse like it was just rainbows splat in your face like vomit. Pastel uses separate colours for the bumpers and it’s kinda relaxing ngl also it airs old shows and it’s just under appreciated. Yes, it’s not the same as the old black and white motif or the dimension era but I still like it

These bumpers just feel so…soulless. The bumpers from 2000’s Cartoon Network felt more alive with the characters interacting with each other. The lack of voiceovers in these bumpers just makes it feel like they brought these back, threw them on the tv screen, and called it a day. And I was one of those kids who grew up in that era. What a shame, this could’ve been better.

they should've just brought back the old City era CN bumpers (from roughly 2005-2007?) and retooled them for this block. that would've been better than the live action/animation surrealist style this has.
