We're an adult couple currently without kids, and we love it, but can't wait to be able to share the Disney experience with our future children. We don't avoid kids and I love seeing little kids who dress up in princess or other character outfits. So cute. We also spend more time at Epcot.

Are people shocked that folks book adults only trip? Disney Cruise Line with no kids is magic.

Just booked a trip for my husband and I for December-haven’t gone alone to WDW since our honeymoon there in 1996. I await the day when there is adult week at WDW (I know - people will think that’s terrible but I’m sure many will agree!)

Every opportunity that I have, I suggest that Disney build an adults only resort on property. I understand that as soon as the people would go the the parks there would be tons of kids, but it would be such an attraction to be able to retreat to an adults only resort.

I love going to Disney as a couple with no kids. 💓 I am ttc so watching kids at Disney is magical. Especially when their face lights up and see something. Disney is like Christmas. ❤

A couple of years ago I took my mom who is showing signs of Alzheimers. It was a challenge to balance having her enjoy an adult trip, but at the same time letting her enjoy a kid’s type trip. We had such a good time. Sometimes, now becoming less often, she remembers something about our trip. The last thing she remembered was a large spider building a web in the corner of our Jungle Cruise boat. 😊

Going with what Craig said here's the bottom line: When you reach the post-kids stage of life, let alone beyond it, you are NOT in the "try everything to find out what you like" stage of mind--you are in the "I know what I like and don't like and I'm selective" frame of mind. From there it is about choices. For example, now that we live in Chattanooga, last time we visited WDW we drove down--a long day but not too far. Drove back via our kids in Savannah, also a long day (or in that case two) but next time? Hell, we'll fly because it is EASIER on us and we're willing to pay for that and the convenience of a rental car. Again, reaching this stage of life means you not just have more choices, you CAN make them and DO make them. It is a matter of a more developed, experienced, and refined taste, and I do NOT mean that in an elitist way--whatever you like, do THAT, but ONLY that because that's what makes sense for you for your enjoyment AND your spending plan.

I’m 56 years old. I grew up in Florida and I’ve been going to Disney World since I was 10. I have 4 children, ranging in age from 14-35 and 3 grandchildren, aged 2-13. I’ve been as a child myself, with toddlers, with young kids, teenagers, no kids. All the trips are amazing and magical, but very different. At this point of my life I still go with kids of various ages from time to time, but the most fun trips are the adult only trips!

My son is now an adult and, since he was raised as a Disney kid, he and I have soooo much fun together at the parks now. We are coming down the end of April/beginning of May this year. Though we typically stay at Riverside, this time we're splurging on a savannah view at AKL. We now tend to try more adult-like things that we never tried before. For instance, this time we're planning to resort-hop and try some of the lounges such as Trader Sam's. Last time we were at Riverside we enjoyed Yehaa Bob, and also did the Wild Africa Trek at AK, and those made us realize there are a whole lot of unexplored areas of Disney that we hadn't yet discovered.

Great show. Hubby and I LOVE Disney World trips as a solo couple. We often stay three weeks - cost to travel from Canada .... pricey - might as well take advantage of it. We stay at the AS Value resorts to stretch our dollar so we can stay longer. The magic has changed travelling without our kids, but the magic is there in new ways. We LOVE it

Being an "older couple" we really love the freedom of setting our own pace and doing what we want to do when we want to do it. Have been with kids and grand-kids and they were great times as well but nowadays we appreciate having "our time" at Disney. Only one downside was last year at Cinderella's Royal Table our server - an older lady - was very cool with us and treated us almost as if we shouldn't have been there without having kids with us. Our last visit was for 3 weeks and that has now become the norm for us - looking forward to being back in May 2021.

Kevin's point that it's all encompassing was right on. My wife and I have taken trips elsewhere, and although we enjoy it, it's a lot of planning. With Disney, we can book a trip and not have to plan much. We've been numerous times so there's no urgency to have any one experience. We book a couple of available dining options, we always manage to get decent fast passes, and that's about it for planning.

I agree that the daily price is still a good deal considering you could spend 16 hours of non-stop enjoyment shows rides street entertainment . Concerts sporting events theatre etc are all very costly and so is the food drink and snacks. You get a lot for your money at Disney.

"Chances are you're not going to be buying as many souvenirs", HAHAHAHA that's a good one ;D. My husband and I won't be having children. We do Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and now have added Disney Cruise Line to our vacations. We love it! I definitely agree that your pre-trip planning is much easier, because we don't have to worry about school schedules and it's just the two of us. So we are flexible on what we want to do, when we want to go, where we want to stay, etc.

Great topic, I didn’t see Disney World until I was 21, my hubby had childhood memories of Disneyland. In 2012 we started going 1-2 x per year as older adults. We adore it! It’s clean, the variety of activities, the range of dining and special experiences are rich! We do things differently for sure, and move slower but the magic never ends, we are now planning a trip with our new granddaughter when she is 3 and can’t wait to see and share that, but sure it will tire us out lol thank god mom and dad will be there! It might be helpful to talk about accessibility issues, rides, transportation, washrooms, dining etc, love all the dis shows✌️

I actually have done solo trips as an adult (granted it's disneyland) because I never married or had kids. I had a blast and it was a chance to relive my childhood (and I could stay from opening to closing because it was my schedule)

I have been so lucky with my daughter (turning 17 this summer) in that I have always been able to still do everything I would normally do as an adult with her. She has been a fine dining fan since she was 5. California Grill has been her favorite since then. She wants us to order the cheese plate or charcuterie, she likes going to Trader Sam's with me (although we have to leave when it's adults only time), she wants to always stay Deluxe and enjoy the amenities at the resort, she's been all thrill ride since she was tall enough for rock-n-roller at 6, she loves the Epcot festivals, she loves Tokyo Dining for sushi, she'd be willing for us to drive 2 hours for the bread service at Sanaa. I could go on and on. I could not have been blessed with a more perfect Disney child for the way I like to do Disney. I do look forward to the day she graduates from college and turns 21 and can experience more things with me. We already talk about how we will train her future kids WAY down the road so we can continue the way we like to do Disney. One thing I always tell people - don't assume your kids always have to do quick service and eat chicken nuggets. Their palate is what you train it to be - what you expose them to - don't sell them short. Just because you have kids doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the adult aspects.

I wouldn’t do a Disney Cruise again. The service was impeccable, the food was great, ship was beautiful. But I didn’t get an experience where the adult areas were empty of kids. The buffet was filled with unsupervised children running around, and parents holding up the line or cutting the line trying to find what their kid wants. I’m a parent but would stand back and get an idea of what my child wanted before I would block 30 people trying to get food.

I travelled solo for 3 weeks in january/february universal, seaworld, Discovery Cove & Disney. Choose better accommodations, upgrade dinner etc. The last 3 days I got annoyed with screaming, tired kids. But the first 2,5 weeks it didn’t matter to me. Want to go to Alaska in 2021, will not choose Disney cruise because of the kids and the character activities.

It is awesome! My sister and I just did s trip to WDW for four days then a three day cruise. We kept remarking on how great it was to only have us to worry about...from when to go, how to pack, what to eat, and how late to be out. We also spent so much less and it was so relaxing.

My SO and I are child-free-by-choice. Disneyland and WDW are two of our favorite vacations. Visiting Disneyland during the work-week has always worked for us (because they cater to their APs who visit mostly on weekends). For WDW, October during the workweek if you like Halloween. If you like Christmas, then during the workweek from Dec 1st-15th is a great time to go. As an aside, we've grown to love Viking Cruises because of their no child policy - highly recommended.

Fantastic show! We love WDW as a couple w/o kids. Our resort of choice is the Poly but also love the Grand Flo and even Coronado Springs as a moderate. We've done Pop and All-Star Movies before and there seemed to be waaaaaay too many screaming kids for our liking so we do prefer the deluxe resorts or a moderate like Coronado which seems to be on the quiet side. There is so many options for couples w/o kids to do at Disney. From fine dining experiences such as Victoria and Alberts and Shula's Steakhouse to nightlife such as Jellyrolls and The Edison.

I like going to Disney because you feel safe going there. Especially where I'm a Mom that travels with a young girl-safety is an issue. You hear stories of Bahamas, cruises, even just staying in hotels if I went by myself. Some people might think all these security guards are a pain, but they do serve a purpose. I do realize that there are dangerous places to travel to and are not always friendly to tourists.

My gf and I are leaving our combined 3 kids at home this September for an adults only trip. I’m down there for a conference so most of the costs are going to be on my company’s tab too. We cannot wait. I went in October 2017 for my son’s bday and did the kid focused trip, so being able to take my time and see things I didn’t see and feel less rushed is going to be amazing.

We don't have kids and love visiting Disney. One of the main reasons is because it is all encompassing. You fly to Orlando and then everything is taken care of. No driving, everything is planned and set up, total disconnect, it's great! There are plenty of places at Disney to get away from kids if that is your concern. You get the best of both worlds: you can have those adult experiences and still get to revisit your childhood and be a kid again at the same time.

For us, Boardwalk has become our place to stay. Proximity to EPCOT, great dining, lower-key than some of the other higher-end places. But for us, Disney Springs is a miss--we have malls at home, so what's the big deal? Ditto discussion on the WDW show this past week about the high price of cabanas--my first thought was that while we like pools and relaxation, at the price of a good Disney vacation, we're not there to sit and do nothing but to do the parks and dining, so those pricey cabanas are competing with park tickets and, thus, lose. For that matter, pools in Vegas are just as nice and we can get first-class rooms at high-end resorts there for $200 a night or even less sometimes with great food and entertainment. Also, having grown up in L.A. with Disneyland we don't do MK much if at all anymore. The point being, everyone's different based on their life experiences and what competes with things at home

We were there last October. My husband and I absolutely loved not having young children with us. Our 18 year old and my sister went with us and we never saw them. It was kind of like a second honeymoon.... Port Orleans was so peaceful and quiet. Coffee or cocktails and relaxing.... 👌😁 Hoping to go back in February, next year for our 30th anniversary... 💑

We went by ourselves as our 1st Bucket List trip 2-1/2 years ago. I always wanted to stay at the Contemporary since riding the monorail thru it as a kid in 1972 but couldn't afford it, especially with kids. We also were able to eat at different restaurants without picky eaters and get to the parks early. It was terrific. I love my (adult) kids, but it's our turn. Plus we went to Disneyland last year for our 30th. This video is good timing though because we're going again next week. This time at a more budget friendly offsite resort.

You are nearly all speaking as Florida residents. Those of us in the frozen north think that coming in January when it's 55 - 65 degrees @ WDW is a welcome relief for those of us leaving -27 degree and 20+ inches of snow. Jan- February at WDW is a haven for us. May dates may be too warm for us northerners.
