Describing people is something we do quite often in our everyday lives. We talk about our friends, family, and colleagues.
Therefore, I want to teach you some advanced adjectives that you can use to describe someone's personality and behavior.

Sometimes, I am crippled and eclipsed by the self-doubt that perhaps I am as obtuse as a tortoise's gait but when I watch your candid videos in which you put forth herculean efforts and overzealous energy then it just makes me little reckless and jittery and inspires me to be a tenacious and adamant mason who is just going to build the house of English no matter what and this time I am not being facetious and I hope you keep injecting us with the vaccines of your healing smile and candid teaching.... ❤❤❤

1. Overzealous During the concert, some overzealous fans ran onto the stage. 2. Tenacious Even though he’s short, he always gives a tenacious effort. 3. Candid This candid photo showed some of the poor living conditions 4. Facetious 5. Obtuse My uncle can be so obtuse, he won’t listen to anyone 6. Boorish His boorish behavior caused me to hang up on him. 7. Jittery The boy was so jittery, he couldn’t sit in one place. 8. Capricious Capricious weather 9. Gullible I couldn’t believe I had fallen for this scam, I was so gullible. 10. Adamant The doctor was adamant, she needed to have surgery immediately. 11. Feckless The coach’s feckless leadership led the team to its worst record in school history.

You give so many examples for 1 adjective, which is good, because repetition is key to efficient learning and memorizing. I enjoy your lessons a lot. Always smiling and enthusiastic 😀

Thank you Wes! IMHO, out of all these adjectives, most frequently used ones are "candid", "adamant", overzealous" and "tenacious".

I know all those adjectives. I was hoping you'd give examples of attributive and predicate adjectives, how they are used in sentences. These are new terms to me.

They are new adjectives for me . To my opinion, they need more practice to be used correctly . My question if native English speakers use them in natural conversations . They need to be recycled over time . Teacher Wes thank you so much for this amazing presentation !

There are some repetitive words, for example capricios, facetious, that the mentor already had reflected in his lessons, but in general there are complicated word, that i heard first time, thank you a lot.

Undeniably learning new words from you is utterly a huge help . Especially that I am not really a person with wide range vocabularies . However I have learned myriad of nascent words from you. In many British dialects the 't' in "obtuse" is pronounced the same as in "Tuesday", which sounds the same as "choose day".

Yes, British English is absolutely from U.S. In the United States, most natives are taught multiple ways to pronounce the letter T. Sometimes T sounds like a D; sometimes it is not pronounced at all. It is claimed by educated speakers of English in the U.S. speech is smoothed out when we apply the multiple ways to pronounce T.

My fellow wordsmith: Nicely done especially for novices. I speed read the dictionary for fun🗣👍🏼... pet peeve is having to define & provide examples (you deserve a medal for teaching skills). I try but can’t relate to dim-witted individuals. I am just being candid about my love of language. It’s my bag! Lol. .if only my aptitude for mathematics would follow suit! 👩🏻‍🎓🧮💱

Amazing video!!! Just one silly question: why "SHE HAVE" and not "SHE HAS" in the "...THE DOCTOR WAS ADAMANT SHE HAVE SURGERY IMMEDIATELY..." ?

This is an example of the subjunctive, which happens with certain verbs. (adamant, recommend, suggest, etc.) 😊
