Mark, I have a question. In the sentence "It's been a pretty eventful last few days" the determiner "a" is used to refer to the noun "days". The noun has a plural form (days), right, so there should be no "a" before the plural noun since the determiner "a/an" is used only before singular nouns. Am I correct in thinking that?
@MadEnglishTV
@MadEnglishTV 3 ай бұрын
"Last few days" is one time period so we can use a/an.

"Mark, I've been learning English through your videos for the past 5 years. I'm a 60-year-old physician with 30 years of experience working in Iran. In my opinion, you seem to experience shortness of breath too soon after walking a little. You're not excessively overweight to justify this. It could be due to weakening chest muscles, which can improve with deep breathing exercises. Still, I suggest getting a test done to check your blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure." I love you .god bless you

Mark, thank you for the video! It's really very helpful as fluent speech is very hard to understand! I have a quick question. You said "I's been a pretty eventful last two days". We were taught that the article "a' can be only referred to countable nouns in singular. But this sentense has the "a" article obviously referred to the words "last few days" and that's plural. Why? I'm trying to take a guess and my version is that " a last few days" implies "one period of time". One span. Is my guess correct? Or the reason is different? Thank you!
@MadEnglishTV

Hi Mark Every video you make is informative and educational. I have no doubt about it ! You gay is unique at least for me because the way you have chosen to teach us English is right up my alley. Really in one video we learn the language, the culture, sports, economics, religion you name it. In my opinion, this is the language and by the way some students may not like when you start going a rabbit trail but for me that's how I learn with you. I don't know though if you do so on purpose but it has been very useful for me because when you start going off a tangent and you lose your train of thought I bet that I am going to learn a lot more than what you plan to teach. Keep it up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Fatiha Switzerland
