+ClayTrader If you really want to know, the answer is "many". Real world traders are coming up with new strategies and variations of existing strategies almost everyday. However your covered call strategy is definitely not regarded as "advanced strategy".

How about selling a cash secured put to buy the stock at discount price then buying a ratio spread...Owning the common would then make it a covered call. Would that be good ?

I need to understand about naked calls before trading. I am thinking about writing a naked call on a stock that is trading at 80.95. The strike price is 70. The premium I will get is 11.25. If assigned, I will be short 100 shares and I will need to buy back the stock. So when I write the call I will get $1125 put into my account. But my question is if I am assigned, does my account go short 100 shares. Or 100 short plus I get $7000 into my account. Please let me know. Thank you.

cbatchler "sounded"... They're not, I was wrong... besides, the key aspect of options trading is answering the question: "what do I think will happen with the price of the stock?", and that is where technical analysis comes into play... and I feel quite comfortable with that aspect of the market.

Brandon Cunningham If you know anything about the market, you know that whatever you are trading, it all hinges on "What do I think will happen with the price?", and for me, I use technical analysis which I have all kinds of courses on. So advanced options trading is 90% charts, and 10% "how does it work". In fact, you bring up an excellent point. The one COMMON complaint I've gotten about advanced option courses in general is they teach the "how", but as far as "what will the price do?", they don't focus (or just go surface deep) on technical analysis.

Yes. Assuming you have a logical strategy in place, options are a great way to methodically build a small account.

Clay im reaching this point with my knowledge of options and why I'm not making money buying puts and sells at the M1 - M5 and always losing . I need your help just a tiny bid . I lost 2k I had saved for a long time in a matter of a month in binary options and stocks I believe Timothy Sykes was right about. I bought all his training and it did very little until I started trading my hard earned money. Can you please God help me understand the strategy for 3/3 or 2/3 ??

@@claytrader Also the problem with these well known old school strategies is that they all have a directional bias. So they are just a way to express a directional bias and when you trade based on picking a direction your not really trading with an edge.

You use probability in very very wrong terms. Saying that it is 33-33-33% going up/down/sideways it is like saying there is a 50% chance the world will end tomorrow because it either does or doesnt.
