As promised in my previous video, here's how I think Sands of Time can be innovated. Sandkeeping has remained largely the same over the history of SOT, and it seems that players believe there's not much room for optimization without outright removing the role. I think there's plenty of room for improvement, though, so I made a guide detailing where and how sandkeepers can change their strategy to improve their team's performances.

If you’re down, I’d like to talk with you about my experiences playing SoT. Ended up on a server that had a very good working version of SoT and was filled with all sorts of players in terms of skill. From experience, some of the things you say are true in theory, but in practice create panic amongst runners causing them to perform worse at tasks due to stress. One of the primary problems I notice in runs is sandkeepers trying to optimize sand, then never completing the levers or parkours in middle. As a sandkeeper myself with a very consistently high record of success, I’d love to give you the info I’ve learned about the game from many play throughs of it, as well as the book I’ve been writing about sandkeeping and strategies for it.

@@shiger_tark9932 I think optimizing sand is much more valuable than completing the levers or parkour given the skill level of the MCC playerbase. Even in a higher-skilled event, I think sand should be prioritized anyway, because you can then use the time it provides later on to do the levers and parkour (these can also be done by runners after the tunnels are explored). I would love to see what you've written though, as experience does give valuable insight.

This video is incredible, I love it so much, the analysis of "Good Support Player" is always something I have strived to break down into an actual analysis of what makes every player amazing and this hits the nail on the head and then into the strategy is exactly what I've always wanted to see out of MCC and I hope people use it in the future.

Just finished watching this video with friends and we had to keep pausing the video to express how much we agreed with everything you were saying or marvel at your analysis! For my part, I 100% agree with what you said about how 'good support player' or 'good sandkeeper' get used instead of actual analysis. Kara is super underrated and as a hermits-in-mcc watcher, I'm not unfamiliar with seeing how the streamers I like don't get fairly represented in other people's analysis. I remember Pearl(?)'s reddit post asking why people kept putting her down as a team's sandkeeper, and I think people really underestimate how much work it takes to be a good sandkeeper. Your strategies make so much sense and I really hope someone uses them in SoT going forward! The clock strategy is something i have thought of before when watching the player play mcc, but I've never had fully thought out in my head. Very cool to see someone else had the same ideas as me. Keep up the great work, man

I dont know if you take requests, but I'd be interested in seeing your thoughts on the optimal strategy for order up in blockwars. How to use upgrades, how many people gather, who makes orders etc.

You'd want to put speedrunners or others who are knowledgeable about the recipes (probably just the top players) in the kitchen. I'm not nearly as knowledgeable about Blockwars as I am MCC, but I think the rest could be solved with a lot of vod reviewing to track the rates of resource use (furnace availability included). It also might be worth sending 3 people (or even more if that becomes meta) down to the boss area when it spawns to guarantee a fast kill. I don't think I could make a video on this easily though, as the Blockwars community does much less stat-tracking than MCC.

I feel like the idea of having to optimize sand is not the best because your runners should be getting the sand and if they do their job u can clear out the entire spawn room
