Thx, I definitely need to check your lesson out on this one. Your tube screamer shirt reminded me of a true story told by guitarist Doyle Dykes last week. Eric Johnson was usins his ears to purchase Doyle a Tube Screamer as Doyle had lost his hearing in one ear. While there in the store testing the product, he looked over in the corner and recognized one then two of his previous guitars, that were stolen in the 80s. The store was getting them ready to ship overseas. Owner had purchased from coworker in 89s...so guess his coworker stole them from EJ. Owner had passed, so wife was selling. Net net, while EJ is in the midst of blessing a friend, he is given an unexpected blessing, he ultimately recovered his equipment stolen decades earlier. A day later, hours later those guitar would have been shipped overseas and never seen by EJ again. Thank you for blessing us with your gift, and may you be blessed in return 🙏 Tomo-san.

I think for many of us, this video is just barely on the verge of too advanced, and that's where I'm able to learn best! I've been playing this progression to practice shell voicings and adding in tritone subs gives me something new and exciting to work with. I knew about tritone subs but I only ever used them on dominant chords!

@@TomoFujitaMusic Doing my best to think about intervals and notes rather than shapes and scale degrees. Takes a lot more work to undo an old habit than to build good ones to start!

Thank you Tomo. You did a lot more explaining the fret numbers of the individual chord shapes you were playing on this video than usual which made it much easier to follow. I learned a lot. Very cool to see how an E7#9 and its tritone substitution Bb13 basically only differ by the tonic note. I also loved the concept of the highest note in the chord descending chromatically in the Cm7, F7b9, Bbmaj7 progression. I'd love to see a vid where you breakdown your super fast funk chord movements but explain each chord like you did in this vid. Keep up the great work.

This one was loads of fun. I can tell all that triad work we’ve been doing lately paid off in multitudes to make this lesson enjoyable, like a little gift for the efforts made. My fingers were ready to accept the motions needed. I’m already familiar with the theory but not on guitar, I feel I get complementary understandings of the theory having practice it a little on piano, now starting on guitar and of course single line horn soloing were I originally learned the theory. Thank you Tomo as usual it was a stellar lesson
