You're right. I stumbled across my first Japanese band about 10 years ago. It's been amazing to find so much great music. I haven't counted how many bands, but so many are all-female or female lead bands. I even started buying CD's again. Really enjoying this wave of music. They crush me. Arigatou senpai Vincent. 💖🌸🌺

If the U.S. music, promotional and music media industries would throw some support and exposure behind these bands, many of them would really take-off. Instead, they call the heavy metal and hard-rock genres irredeemably passe and refer to the bands as "unmarketable". The Kingdom of the Braindead.

@@bruceveary1758 I agree. I do know Baby Metal and Band Maid have made actual tours of the U.S. Many other bands have made appearances, but deserve to tour here like any other great act. Thanks, arigatou gozaimasu senpei. 🌺

@@mgrzx3367 I concur. People tend to think of many of the great Japanese bands as having toured America in the past. While bands like Lovebites, Aldious and Mardelas have toured Europe in the past, none of these have ever toured America (I am not counting "one-and-dones" as "tours"). Basically, America can count on Band Maid, Nemophila, and Babymetal as Japanese bands that regularly tour the U.S. (and, in the past, Scandal) -- that's more or less it (as regards female [or female-fronted] hard rock and metal bands from Japan). I have my fingers crossed for positive change on this front in the future. America's music/promotional/music media industries net to get off of their numb a__es, find some courage (and some taste), and meet their responsibilities here. (The Japanese fact that the Japanese bands are ignored, while Taylor Swift can command $950 a seat, is an obscenity). I'd give you a closing in Japanese, but I'm horrid in the two non-English languages that I've received instruction in (German and Spanish), and my Japanese is FAR worse. I'm from the U.S. and I'm not missing out. Japanese video game sound tracks were the gateway drug to an expanding list of cool things about Japan that cannot be extinguished even with the death of Earth because even the oldest stars in the universe have seen anime.

we are still in a minority - i am a 71 year old bassist and every time i see one of my old mates or even newer ones none of them are aware of the japanese music scene. it's up to us to make it known so i plug these bands every chance i get@@AxionSmurf

It's not as uncommon as you'd think, at least in Japan. I've seen at least two of the keyboardists from Bang Dream! use keytars on stage (only counting actual performing bands btw, not the 3 whose VA's do not perform live). It seems to be an acceptable alternative to a stationary keyboard when the keyboardist wants to be able to move around more. (and before y'all get on me over mentioning BD in a metal thread, the two keyboardists I've seen use keytars are both either goth or electronic rock, so we ain't talkin about pop bands here)
