Hello and welcome to the 1st episode of the 5th season of Adventure Now!
In this episode we repair Altor's deck damaged by a leak on the chain plate and get ready for the new sailing season. We leave Largs on the 16th of May and head for an anchorage in St Ninian's Bay on the west side of the Isle of Bute. We have a beautiful gentle cruise up Loch Fyne to a pontoon outside Ardrishaig and transit the most beautiful shortcut in the world again.
After four peaceful nights on the Crinan Canal we motor through Dorus Mor, share from the heart and experience a great shake down sail through the Sound of Luing and towards the Island of Kerrera as the wind increases to 30 knots!
We are very grateful to each and everyone for watching our adventures aboard sailing vessel Altor of Down, a Moody 44, our floating home, pride and joy.
Filmed in 2024 using a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000, a Samsung Galaxy S10, a Rhode microphone and edited with iMovie.

Hi Andy 🙃 Indeed, we feel blessed to be calling the west coast of Scotland our home! Not sure if the 4th of June delivered snow also on the Firth of Clyde, as on the 7th of June we reach the shores of Norway. It ain't snowing here, thankfully, but the rain and wind are here, so we're acclimatising and chilling on the boat after the passage. Wishing you all the best 🤗 Asha & Mark

He certainly designed a good anchor. As for the fiberglassing, I now know why it's hard to find many upside down fiberglassing videos on KZfaq! Maybe we would have recorded some of it if we weren't both covered in resin 😅 It was a steep learning curve!!!! You are right. We do all need to be positive and live our best lives. Nice words. Nice to watch you chugging out of my home port of Largs heading to Crinan & beyond. Come 13th (June) we’ll be chasing you north, well, for 2 weeks at least, on our maiden voyage west beyond the Clyde. We won’t catch you but we’ll at least keep watching. Good to see ya both.
