I have tried all the navigation apps, and by far GaiaGPS is the best one. I can create routes and wayfinding places on my computer and it syncs to the cloud and updates to my phone automatically. The yearly subscription is well worth the money and you get access to premiums map layers. I use the 'Satellite with labels' map overlay and it is surprisingly detailed on NZ back country routes, huts, and information. For detailed high resolution imagery, I use the 'World Imagery" layer from ESRI as it is amazing how you can pick up 4wd track and small trails that other satellite imagery cannot give you.

Thanks for the comment. You should definitely do the track if you are into adventure riding. It is well worth the adventure. It is publicly accessible from Dansay's Pass. @@kiwionbike I just downloaded the Gaia app Looks pretty good although it didn’t recognize the mt kyeburn track?

Yeah I just like to go at a comfortable pace, and like yourself, I'm there for the scenery and enjoyment rather than racing to the finish line. I just saw your video and crazy that we published at the same time the same track. You'll have to get to the top next time you do it. It's not much more difficult that where you got to. Let me know when you're next down in the south island. Will have to catch up.

@@kiwionbike Thats a great idea kiwi. I'm booked to be at Failie 13th and 15th. Inbetween I'll be at the Alexandra hotel 13th and 14th Feb 2014 to do the Dusty Butt if my registration is excepted. When I finish that I want to book into the Otematata Tavern to spend some quality adventure in all that area. It would be cool to catch up and share some adventurers with you. Watch this space.👍
