My grandmother worked at the Disney Hotel in an era when they gave free tickets to employees very generously. She would pick me up from school every day and put me on the Monorail and then go back to work at the hotel and the park became my babysitter for 6 years. I rode this ride more times than I could ever count- like hundreds of times, from 6-12 years old and you captured it perfectly in every detail right down to the rain lamp display at the very end! I was really mourning the loss of this ride and now I don't have to. Thank you so much!

That is just UNFATHOMABLY COOL and NO FAIR!!! 😉💕 Seriously, though. How many kids get to go to Disneyland EVERY DAY!!!? I'm in my 50's now and STILL can't sleep the night before Disneyland. I can remember as a kid just daydreaming about this ride all the time, and how my brothers and sisters would lay in the dark talking about this ride for hours until we fell asleep- and then it was time to get up & go!!! I really do miss this ride and I loved your post.🤗💕❄

A very accurate CGI rendition of what the real ride was all about back in the 1960's. I was looking at other films that tried to capture the real ride, but this CGI really helps you see what it was really about to ride it. I really enjoyed this. It was a really cool ride to go on over and over some 50 years ago.

Very impressive reproduction. That must have been a lot of work. You captured certain nuances that I distinctly remember especially the way the Omnimovers jerked around in certain places. As a kid, that was one of my favorite things. My mother and sister despised this ride but it was my Dad' favorite attraction in the whole park. I thought it was pretty great too. I have fond memories of our riding this together. The eye through the microscope at the end always amazed me. Thank for bringing this back into the world.
@Syncopator9 жыл бұрын
Robert J. Holtz When it first opened they were still using ticket books but the Inner Space ride was free, so we'd go on it repeatedly. Even so it was a great ride, and that was two years before the Haunted Mansion opened so it was the only ride in Anaheim that had the Omnimover vehicles at that time. I thought it was a crime they dismantled it, my favorite thing in the park.
@JeremyYost5 жыл бұрын
Totally. The way the Omnimovers jerk back and forth is spot on. Also the way the nucleus of the atom is revealed and how you could see how flashing nucleus was attached to the wall by a rod.

The back-and-forth at the beginning is to cover the sensation of making a sharp left turn instead going straight through the Mighty Microscope. There was too much light in the queue area and you could usually see the buggies turning left as you entered the tunnel.

@princezzpuffypants62874 жыл бұрын
I don't sense a conspiracy here. It is a fact that large corporations care only about profits at any cost: that is how they survive. Hopefully we will find a way to stop planetary destruction from being profitable before it kills us, but the odds are not in our favor at present. Just facts.
@DougGlendower3 жыл бұрын
@@princezzpuffypants6287 Large corporations legally have to care only about profits. It's how we vote that can change that, both with ballots and with dollars.
@Bradwick13 жыл бұрын
When a corporation craves and gains virtually unlimited profits, the motivation changes, the crave is no longer more profits, it is power and control over other peoples profits and lives which includes the control over life or death. Profitable does not equal moral and beneficial. Like the song says "...a never ending search is on, by men who dare and plan" To assume that all these daring men plan and conspire to improve everyone's life is just as naive as assuming there could never be conspiracies to do the opposite. They dont all think like you. Judge a tree by its fruit.

Great job, Steve Wesson! Outstanding work! As a side note, up until 1982, most every attraction at Disneyland (and eventually Disney World) required a ticket. "A" tickets were the cheapest, "E" tickets the most expensive. "Adventure Thru Inner Space" (as well as "Great Moments with Mr Lincoln") were FREE attractions - they didn't require a ticket. Which made it very popular. That, and the fact that there was rarely if ever a line! Those ride vehicles, also used on the Haunted Mansion, were great. Adventure Thru Inner Space lasted from 1967 - 1985. Thanks for posting this.

I remember riding on this attraction as a kid and the level of detail here is incredible! From the texture of the large snowflakes (complete with sparkles) to the moving stripes on the 3 h2o molecules, to the rod holding the nucleus (which was never intended to be seen) that projected to the rear and down, to the stickers on the cars, every detail is exactly as I recall it to be. How in the world did you manage to recreate such detail? This is a true labor of love and an incredible accomplishment. I sincerely thank you for taking the time to do this and preserve something that is unfortunately lost to time.
@Frankie2012channel7 жыл бұрын
Great and accurate rendition of what it looked like. One thing that was missing was the TINY PEOPLE in the cars as seen in the giant shrinking ray 'gun' aimed at the snowflakes at the beginning of the ride. I always marveled at the tiny people in the seats as a kid and always stared at the people loading on to the ride while I was waiting in line to see if I could recognize people's clothing from their real life size to their miniaturized size. HAHAHA. It was a nice illusion and fooled me totally as a kid!

The narrator is African-American character actor Will Kuluva, who also starred in The Twilight Zone's "The New Exhibit" and an Alfred Hitchcock Presents" episode. The ride made us believe that this was a glimpse in to the future that I would grow up in ... ha ha! But it was a lot of fun and I miss being able to see these things.
